Where can one get 10-12 ft of this mythical hose from the intake housing to the front of the car (after a check valve).

I got Mine at O'Reily's. Gates 5/8" brake vacuum hose. P/N BAT 27211, $4.09 a ft. I actually had to buy it twice. After complete installation my son was drilling out the hole in the fender to pop rivet the access door, and you guessed it - drilled right through the hose. Do it twice, do it nice. Much easier to do with the fuel tank out. Which is much easier to remove with the engine out,

Any shop that works with trucks will have or can order you some. Change the heater hose while you are in there unless it has been done in the last 20 years. You need someone to push from the back (feeding it over a plate that is about a foot into the passage) and someone pulling from the front. The push-me-pull-you action works

Vacuum hose? Seriously... It's where I've bought it from before. Odd.
Could always ring up your local Parker hose. Might need a business account though...
Best pricing on Continental is thru summit racing, you'll need to source the part number from Conti though.
    Last option, McMaster Carr.

OK, I found that I can order from Napa, but I have to take the whole 50 ft roll. That is enough for 3 cars, would anybody else want to share in the cost?

I've had good luck with a local hydraulic hose supply company; can't imagine having to try and deal with Superformance for something so simple as a fabric-wrapped brake hose. It's not exactly unobtanium.

I bought it by the foot from a truck parts place in San Jose right at 101 and 4th St. in San Jose. I think it was Parker hose. Truck place is called Coast Counties Peterbuilt. They had it in stock right over the counter.
