I'm not really a fan of these ''gumball' style rallies but what possible hope does the German police have on non-german registered cars? So long the car is legal in the country where it's registered and not breaking any german speeding laws, there really isn't much they can do surely? Ze germans are an efficient bunch but I doubt the average policeman knows the road legality rules of Norway
Norway follow EU traffic guidelines for road safety and technical standards. Our «technical check» every second year is even called «EU-kontroll»! We were driving carefully.
I get that, but individual countries (maybe not Norway) still have their own rules...prime example being the UK (still EU for now). I mean you can literally have a road legal toilet. Just curious is all.
Had my car for the obligatory 2 years TÜV/DEKRA check here in Germany the previous week. Usually this check takes 20 minutes but this time it took 1 1/2 hours, they checked everything, especially the chassis, all rods, connections, trailing arms, lifted the car several times, emission test twice, intensive shock absorber check.... I passed, but was really astonished regarding the detailed inspection, I mean my car has done 250 miles following the previous inspection two years ago and overall appr. 16.000 miles…., so I havn't expected big issues. Gorgeous. Looks almost identical to 134033 (6-speed), which doesn't have shields. Looks better with shields after seeing yours.

My 575 just got a stablemate, I had to beg and plead with wife bc we have twins coming in a few weeks but she gave me the ok. I always wanted one of these 911SC cabs and I spent the past month learning how to drive a manual on a cheap beater I paid $4k for. Once I had it mastered I went and grabbed this on the weekend. So how much fun are you having driving a manual? I have a similar garage, a 550 and an 86 Targa, both red as well.
It's fun, its a good skill to know, but the F1 in the 575 is definitely more fun to drive than the manual in a 1983 porsche haha. I always wanted one of those 911sc cabs bc they were the first 911 convertibles and i had a poster of a red one when i was young.
The 915 transmission definitely has character. As long as it is in good condition, it gets better as you get used to it. Mine shifts well, but works even better if I double clutch on the way down. Enjoy.
Congrats and enjoy rowing the gears! I have an 87 coupe, red too - these cars are just magical. (Sorry I couldn’t find a pic of it next to the 550 or 456). Congrats on the twins too! Ruben Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have a 550 and a 930 Slantnose. Very different eventhough both are manual. Image Unavailable, Please Login
