    So instead of just telling me the serial number, you're telling me that it's easily discernible? Can't you just tell me the serial number? All of Telaio at your fingertips, and I have to get the run-around? No wonder so many people don't like Telaio or its members, and have subsequently started other serial number forums.

    Then why even reply? So everyone can see you brag that you have a VIN? Look at you, Mr. Big Shot. And I've been banned from Telaio for a decade or more, and you people are still taking and using my information. Matthias Kierse was the latest lowlife to take information from me and post it as his own. You're all the same - I retired from VINs a year ago, and you're all still using my information. I was trying to get the F50 VIN for someone else - someone who's genuinely interested in recording Ferrari history, irrespective of bragging rights, unlike you and so many other Telaioisti - who still contact me for information. You're like a junior smug asshat version of Marcel Massini.

    How will this work? If, hypothetically, the current owner spent $2million on it 5 years ago, and has now listed it at this auction, then what? Is there a fee simply to list the car? If it hammers for $3milion (and past any reserve), then there's a commission on top? Who does that go to? And I assume that any capital gain will be taxed as ordinary income in the US? This is outside my means and my world but I'm curious to learn about it.

    The commissions with the auction houses are totally negotiable with a car like this that can bring a lot of attention to the sale itself. So you can negotiate 0% com up to $2m, then a sliding scale above that.

    Buyer would be liable for the capital gain (any dollar above the paid price when he bought minus expenses) and it would be taxed as regular income. Unless you hire a good and creative cpa.

    For those of you reporting the exchange between tomgt and 134282, another moderator has already taken action and applied a 30 day thread ban for tomgt and a 90 day thread ban for 134282 for that exchange.

    An additional 2-day site ban for 134282 for taking a snipe at an uninvolved party as a part of the exchange.
