I took my sticky 612 to Ferrari of Atlanta for de-stickying. Got it back today.

It looks and feels great. Really good work at a fair price.

I suggest you consider them if you need the fix.

I'm curious at what model did the sticky stop? If it stopped at all? Does anybody know?

It's not just Ferrari. I have a 10 year old Honda and the airbag cover on the steering wheel has the same problem.

My mechanic told me they just did an entire 458 interior, not sure what year.. Dash removal, etc. Seems ridiculous for a $250k+ car to have to still deal with this. Just had mine done (05' 575) for the first time in 14ys. They can produce a 1000hp vehicle however can't provide a maintenance free tactile switch?? Really? Someone's family company is smiling all the way to the bank. IMHO

My car is driven most days when I’m home but it’s still treated like a jewel protected from the sun at all times other than driving,
Has 3m crystalline on all glass and still this issue,
My cars final sticker price $400.000 a true disgrace.

Indeed, a very sad situation...just odd. I would truly pay to watch a documentary explaining how/why this is so. All my other cars don't have any sticky, some older then my Ferrari.

I am in the electronic component business and know all about switches. I can appreciate the aesthetics of getting the right feel- but to get it wrong for the past 30 yrs. it’s laughable

Who did the dealer send the parts too?

If they did it themselves (I’ve never heard of that), how did they do it?

My 328 as I have said before was really built by hand, and you can just feel that the factory people have poured their hearts into the construction. Why is it that the Japs can get things right with their cars, but Ferrari cant ? I mean a 458 in for the interior to be re done !! Hell with Ferrari At one point I wanted a 355 to go with my 328 ...Not anymore, same goes for a 430 And for a much better deal I can get a Gallardo rather than a Testarossa, which by the way I still have a thing for

    Thank you

It is truly a mystery, I would think by now the situation would be rectified. To hear it still happens on late model cars...unbelievable.

we were having this exact same conversation 15 years ago about how Ferrari was so negligent allowing this to continue for so long and to the best of my knowledge current models will still have the same problem. 2017-2020's may take another year or so to show up, but here in this thread we've documented a 2015 FF with sticky problems and I personally test drove a 2015 GranTurismo with sticky problems.

I took them the whole car. They did the work in house and returned the whole car. One of their techs is an artist?
I did no disassembly nor reassembly.
Good work at a fair price.

Yeah, all dealers do the disassembly and reassembly. My dealer then sent the parts out for refinishing. I’ve heard of other dealers doing the same. But I’ve not heard of a dealer doing the stripping and repainting themselves...That’s the part I was hoping to learn more about...

Mr. Lay, did you ever have the chance to talk to any of the higher ups at Ferrari Italy or North America about this issue, I read in another thread that you got to speak with some of them regarding this forum and its legality anyways I hope all the owners that have this problem get it sorted, I know how anal I am about my car

    Thank you

no, I have never talked more than a couple times in past to Italy and just to FNA for event promotions etc. they all monitor FerrariChat closely and I'm sure have seen it discussed plus feedback they get from Owners and Dealers. FYI I believe sticky parts covered under warranty.

They’ve been monitoring Fchat for Years let’s not be fooled for one moment they care about a car after the warranty is up,
Having said that mine started 2 years ago.

The factory doesn't care. Why? Well have to been to Italy? The condition of buildings and various things falling off... They just don't have the time or inclination to care. They realize things age and get worn and it's part of life. They have an aincent culture and live among aincent history like it's no big deal. Getting in a tizzy over the smallest details isn't cool and the Italians were put on this planet to be cool.

Do I like the stickies? No, I hate them. It's embarrassing. I just love Ferrari more.

That’s surprising...1 because they’re still using the stuff when it’s so well known 2 that it degraded so soon after purchase.
It’s as if they want the cars to look raggedy after a couple years so they don’t compete with a new sale
