I agree that the Pista is prettier. They took the 488 and took the best features of it and enhanced the look. Its the perfect amount of aggressiveness. If only however Ferraris didnt come raised like a 4x4
a rhd 458sa is still £550k and a spec £280k+ though I personally think they'll stick around the £300k mark for several years
Not sure that’s a plus... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Fire...so cool. Ferrari will begin the recall process by April 14, 2019, while vehicle owners that are possibly affected may call Ferrari's customer service number at 1-201-816-2668. A second recall (number 69) affects a wider range of Ferrari vehicles. According to NHTSA, the fuel vapor separator of certain 2017 LaFerrari Aperta, 2018-2019 488 GTB, GTC4Lusso T, GTC4Lusso, 488 Spider, 812 Superfast, and 2019 488 Pista vehicles could potentially crack which could lead to a fuel leak. This fault may increase the risk of fire in these vehicles. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I always liked the look of it and the novelty of the flames and whip crack. I was really hoping that it sounded as good as the promo vids and was rather disappointed to find it so crass and truck like particularly from the outside. I truly look forward to the day Mac can get their cars to sound like a high end exotic instead of some old thrashing machine.
You are the one that posted fire pics of Macs for some reason. I just pointed out the obvious. Take care.
As an owner of a Speciale and 600LT, I found the Speciale a more exciting car. The 600LT is the most fun McLaren I've driven, although I've only driven a 650S, 720S, and 600LT. Despite that I did put at least a few hundreds of miles on each, and taken all to at least 150mph. My main complaints about the 600LT have been reliability, turbo lag, and the McLaren customer support. The 600LT is a fun and incredibly fast car, but I dropped a 991.2 GT3 RS order to get the 600LT. And to be honest, I don't feel like I made the best choice. Speciale values have held strongly. It's not a "hold it and you're gonna make tons of money!!1" car, but it depreciates at a very slow rate. I've lost more value on my 600LT in it's first month of ownership than I have over the 2+ years that I've had my Speciale. That's just McLaren unfortunately.
I had imagined the 600LT to be a more special/unique ride compared to the .2 GT3 RS. Thanks for sharing your experience regarding reliability and lag. Depreciation is a common theme so buying used seems the prudent choice. Is the 600LT following a more normal depreciation curve like the 720S? Hard to compare against Speciale, I wonder how the 600 LT depreciation stacks up against the 488?
Never driven a GT2 RS so can't compare. I will say that the 600LT is more fun than my previous 991 GT3. However, it's a far more expensive car. I think the 600LT is holding slightly better than the 720S. However, 720S are heavily discounted from MSRP for even new cars. Most 600LT were sold at sticker unless it was on-the-lot purchase. If you purchase at that discounted price, then I think they are the same or maybe even the 720S holds better. 488 holds better than both, although worse than previous mid-engined Ferrari.
He is right about the Scud....the ugly duck is actually the most entertaining car overall of them all....
Sorry I meant 991.2 GT3 RS not 991 GT2 RS. Obviously the latter is a more special car but at $360k it should be. Good insight on the discounted new car pricing of the 720. Hadnt thought about that.
720s is very very heavily discounted. All McLaren product is. Of anyone wants a unique colored 600lt with about 1500 miles I can save you a whopping amount of money. It's pretty crazy. Great car just not holding value. To be honest 488s are also depreciating like reentry rockets too.
All regular cars depreciate until they reach their bottom price, unless the market is in the middle of a unusual speculative hiccup. With short memories one could consider the recent 2015 situation as a benchmark, but it's not. In 2000 I bought for FRF 350,000 a testarossa that was a FRF 1,000,000 car in the early '90 - that's historic depreciation
Yes. 488 is not as bad as McLaren as far as depreciation. Unless you talk about over 350k MSRP cars. Cars that are over loaded are just over loaded.
