Ok, so here's the issue.... I purchased a MY2004 360 from a franchised Ferrari dealer in the US. Car arrived, but the inner engine bay panels were swapped out by previous owner at some point for the carbon ones. Problem is, they didn't transfer the emissions sticker over. And where I live they do Smog checks and that sticker is required it seems. So I went back to the dealer and was instructed to take certain pictures of the car (for verification purposes) so that they can correspond with the factory to get a replacement sticker. Couple of weeks go by and I just got a response from the dealership that says this: "got word back from Ferrari about the emissions sticker for your 360. They are stating that the 2004 model does not come with this sticker." I'm thinking what crock of **** is this. Anyone else agree? And if that wasn't laughable enough, I responded to their email with this attachment: Image Unavailable, Please Login So how do you explain that? Guys....curious on everyone's thoughts.
If it's that simple, can someone take a high res photo for me from a straight faced angle? Would appreciate it.
Thank you! Would appreciate it. I think the thing that bothers me most is that the dealer would find it acceptable to respond to me with that message.
Just thinking out loud since I don't really know: If the dealer talked to the factory they may have heard that. The sticker may have been attached by FNA since it is a US emissions sticker. Have you contacted FNA?
the number to the right of the MY2004 might be the part number of the decal. A coworker needed a decal for a ford mustang and the dealer said they could not be bought. He countered that the decal had a part number and they should be able to order any part number for the car. He did get a new decal!
I have not. I passed the request for the sticker and the responsibility of it onto the dealer that sold me the car. They had emailed me this procedure of how to take certain pictures as the factory would need visual verification to provide the emission sticker. Obviously I followed the process and sent them the pictures. Waited 2 weeks at the very least, and finally got that response. Now, and this is just me, but if I was the dealer handling all this for my customer, I don't think I would have taken the lazy way out and responded to the customer the way they responded to me. Was this guy not intelligent enough to have thought "that's not right. US cars require the emissions sticker" and looked further into it? I know I would. And here's the kicker...I sent him a picture of an emissions sticker for a 2004MY 360 as proof to disprove the response they sent to me, which was "word back from Ferrari about the emissions sticker for your 360. They are stating that the 2004 model does not come with this sticker". Unsurprisingly I received no response from them. So either the person who was looking into this for me was an idiot and doesn't know better about there not being stickers or that they were lazy and can't be bothered to look into this further (even after I sent him proof against their response), or they were a combination of both.
Here is a bad pic of my 2004 Spider. The air box is in the way of a better angle. Image Unavailable, Please Login
