So my 2009 Scud makes a Sqweel/chirp when shifting at high RPM in F1-S. No it's not the tires. A mechanic told me this is normal (belts) but other Scud owners look at me like I'm crazy, they have never heard it.
    Help!

458s make a belt chirp when shifting at full throttle near redline. I have never heard a Scud do it, but it is most likely the same thing. How old is your drive belt? If more than 5 or 6 years old, I would replace it at the next service and see if it fixes the issue. Have your technician check the tension of the belt with a belt frequency meter to see if it is correct, if too low, you should replace the belt tensioner/pulley as well.
It could be something else, noises are hard to locate, especially under the circumstances that you are having.

thank you. The car is new to me so I don’t know belt age.
Does anyone else hear this noise?

The belt has a date code printed on it. The first two digits are the year
