These are the typical instructions for the TCU replacement. The ones that Eric sends out are typically plug and play though. Make sure you shut off the battery first, and then replace the TCU. Given the settings on Eric's TCU, should then work very well, if not perfectly. Then, you can optimize the TCU using a Launch x431 device, or maybe then your repair shop will be willing to help once you have the TCU installed and functioning.

Brilliant thank you Kevin! Just to be super clear (so I don't mess anything up) I can swap my TCU now without using any diagnostic tools and will work? I understand not perfectly until properly set up but will be drive-able? This is something I can do tomorrow as I'm going to swap the cars battery for a new one so I could kill 2 birds with 1 stone and swap the TCU while the power is off (from the trunk)

Apologies for the questions guys but just want to be sure!

    Thanks,
    Lee.

That is correct. MANY people have purchased Eric's TCU and just run it as is! It will probably function so much better than your original, that you may not realize that it can/should be further optimized. Make sure the battery is NOT connected when messing with the TCU!!!

Thats great news, I will do this tomorrow when I swap the batteries over but will do the TCU when the battery is out of the car and go for a drive afterwards. I'll report back once done.

    I love these forums!

If you have a '99 car especially the tcu won't be anywhere near as fast as it should be performing, an' 03 model and above works the best.

Now that I've worked out how to modify the CS Engine software to work on any 360 (gated cars included), with the only pre requisite being a free flowing sports exhaust you have no excuses not to upgrade both tcu and engine ecus. As the factory intended, they are designed to work best together with CS tcu and CS engine ecus. [emoji4]

Bought, but not yet installed a Tubi exhaust. Does this quality?? Does this involve sending you the engine ECUs? Or is this a part of the SAK software? Or Both?

    Thanks!

Before SAK tools official launch I'm using partners in different countries to do an initial manual flash. Including USA. So if your in US for example it can be turned around very quickly, within a couple of days without leaving the country so no import taxes, etc.

Once SAK tool is released it can be done in situ via obd but that feature is still under development at this stage.

Update, did the plug and play. Soon as I turned ignition to 'on' I got a beep sound and the F1 light lit. With the engine off I couldn't select any gear. Started the engine and the car shifted into 1st on its own with auto flashing on and off. Quickly shut the car off and swapped back to my old tcu as I decided to chicken out at that point. All OK with the old tcu back in but did panic a little lol. Any ideas?

Weird. I had nothing like that happen with my swap. I would consider messaging eric355 just to see if he has any additional thoughts. He has dealt with a lot of these.

Will do, it may just need self learning or something but will get in touch. I never thought but I should of filmed it from my phone but didn't think at the time.

    UPDATE:

Eric has kindly send me another tcu to try and...... *Drum roll please*

    IT WORKS!
I can select every gear, no F1 light and no beeps off the dash! Eric has been brilliant with everything I could ask for and helping me rule things out and I will recommend him 1000000000000000000%

360 wizards out there I have a couple of questions.

    1) When the engine is running I can hear the actuator humming constantly. Is this normal or does it need setting up at the shop? Again only constant humming when the engine is running. With the ignition 'ON' it only hums as I run through the gears and goes quiet when that gear is selected.

    2) Went out for a quick test drive and I can hear what sounds like a 'wooooshing' noise coming from the rear of the car. It gets louder the higher the rpm but when in neutral and coasting its hard to hear it. So I'm guessing the clutch is dragging slightly or something? Again I'm guessing it needs setting up at the shop? No way if I recorded it on a video would the sound pick it up as I could only hear it faintly.

Both doesn't happen with my old challenge tcu so just wanted to check here first with you wizards out there who already have the CS TCU and if the challenge tcu operates differently to the other tcu's?

    Many thanks!

actuator humming? what actuator is humming?

challenge TCU is a complete different animal than regular ecus, but it is NOT fast.
