Seems like the law of averages has caught up to LH.... he’s gotten away with so much that if they didn’t penalize him then the FIA would have lost what little credibility it has left....

I like it if for no other reason than that it makes for an interesting start to the race.

My favorite idea (which I've been mentioning on here for years): Reversed grid!

for that to be caught up he'll need to grab a penalty for each session for the remained of the season, really!

I see Pirro's there also, handing out trophy for F2 race - reward for bravery for Montreal decision maybe?

Alright!! Let's see Charles get a solid start with lots of jousting well behind him....maybe that #5 car can gain some ground. Hope the soft tyre strategy works out!

How about Lando Norris and the McLaren. 5th fastest 2 weeks in a row (now 4th with the grid penalty). That’s some serious pace from a team that looked positively lost last year

Agree...good chance to reset the conversation from ESPN F1.

...of course, that’s assuming Hamilton doesn’t win from 5th on the grid.

I don´t like this kind of penalties. But it seems they´re in a zero tolerance policy now, so I suppose they had no choice.

BTW, if we apply zero tolerance, Ricciardo and Raikkonen deserved penalties at France´s qualy and went unpunished. Still lacking consistency.

I've been watching F1 religiously since 1999. In 20 years I've missed only a handful of races (on race day).

I bleed Ferrari red. The sport is losing it's fan base.

Too many rule and regulation changes. Sacrificing traditional venues for more lucrative ones. Car's so sophisticated, so technically advanced that the drivers are merely there to steer them.

Not to mention inconsistent rulings by the stewards.

If Ferrari were winning every race this season... my view of F1 today wouldn't change.

Couldn’t have happened to a more deserving smarmy little prick. About time

Forza Ferrari..... the only racing team and car marque that matters. Italia forever It’s easier to apologise than it is to ask permission

So did Elton trying to run Kimi off the road in practice but yet again he got away with it. It’s about time, but I’m guessing this is just to try to deflect the pressure from Mercedes and the FIA as the clamouring voices of dissent are getting louder

Agreed,Ihave been watching as long as you and I remember when Ferrari was dominant we were bored out of our minds and were sick of them winning so much. We love Ferrari but we also want some good racing.

Magnussen now been awarded a penalty....Lewis to start 4th. His penalty was awarded earlier than Kmags so he moves up the grid....
