This is just a test.... 1) Remind me of when Rogere took a team to L:e Mans. I don't remember that occasion. 2) Ford Mustangs in NASCAR? Coulda' (but ya' don't) fooled me. A name on a car doesn't actually make it one....
Yeah, the Fords they're running in NASCAR this year have Mustang bodies. Of course, like the other cars, they sure don't look much like stock...
I forgetted. Owwww.....that's painful...siiiighhh. 'Twas a pertty thang. (Sunoco coloured Penskes always were) Nifty li'l piece.... https://autoweek.com/article/car-life/david-hobbs-penskes-ferrari-and-unluckiest-race-car-world edit: My heart be still !!!!:
Very observant of you!!! Mebbe that's because they isn't much like stock.... When was that last....T-birds and Luminas? 1990ish?
well it was nearly 50 years ago so I think you have an excuse it is pretty interesting that in all his various sports car programs (particularly the Porsche RS Spyders), Penske never went back to Le Mans.
A) 'Looks good on paper (ahem, screen...) but I identify more with reasons than excuses, and diminishing braincells and corroding wiring don't look, or feel, so good... With my passion for racing starting 10+ years ealier, that one was too easy not to forget, 'just plain misplaced/short circuited... B) That's an easy one also. If Rogere isn't going to make money doing it, he isn't doing it. Also, not running anything in an existing Le Mans class, a one off would take even more moola and the odds of winning would be rather low....just as in the 512 effort. I don't think the Spyders ever had a shot at an outright win and I don't think Mssr Penske would settle for less (LMP2) ala Ganassi (GTE). ('statement qualified of course, by: unless the compensation had been enuff for so doing...) Again, we're OT. edit: btw, didja notice... https://livetiming.alkamelsystems.com/imsa http://imsa.alkamelsystems.com/
So has anyone here thought about Nascar and when the Camaro departs? What car does Chevy have left? The new Blazer?
Yes, I'm awake nights worrying about this. Seriously, whatever badge they put on the cars hardly matters. The cars are all the exact same only some have either have Ford, Toyota or Chevrolet stickers on them. Take off all the stickers and I defy anyone identify what car is what. Remembering back to the 90's when Rusty Wallace jumped from his long-time association with Pontiac to Ford with near-immediate success. When Wallace won one of the first races of the year convincingly, they asked him how he was able to make the transition successful so quickly. Wallace's answer was telling. They used the exact same chassis that they had been using for years with the Pontiac engine and bodywork, replaced it with the Ford engine and bodywork and didn't miss a beat. Can anyone imagine this being the case in any other form of motorsport? That was the 90's when you could actually tell the cars apart. BHW
No. Not a't'all. Doesn't really matter as they aren't what they're "called" anyhow. Chevy X would be fine...or just Chevrolet, Ford, and Toyota, I guess would work, actually. edit: 'Sorry BW. 'Hadn't read your post yet. 'Didn't mean to duplicate. 'Just jumped on response to Eric due to e-m notification of their post.
I guess so.... 'Don't really give a sheet about NASCRAP anymore. 'Was nore P.O.'d that it bumped Watkins Glen IMSA due to the rain delay..... At least F1 was a good one. Been waiting a while for a close one (as it always was and should be at the top of the heap. )
then why keep posting here? NASCAR has a ton of problems, most self-inflicted, but I still enjoy the competition on occasion. if you don't like it and don't watch it anymore, why bother posting?
wait, you tellin' me dem cars ain't really STOCK?!?!?!?! well damn. I was just about to go down to the ol' Tie-yoda dealership and buy me one a dem manual tranny V8 powered Supras. Billy Bob says it's just a BM dubya in drag, I think he's foolin' me.
A) 'Cause I've got something to say, like any other poster. B) Me too. I repeat, I have a passion for all auto racing. C) 'Never said I don't. 'Just don't give a hoot about who/what finishes where; just like IndyCar, BoP'd racing, and drag racing, to name a few. D) 'Didn't say that either. E) See answer A. 'Answer your questions sufficiently? (If you wish, I'll elaborate. PM...err..."Conversation" me if so.)
As it was, "back in the day". Ala the original T/A also.....(body templates, mandatory near-stock suspension pickup points, catalog engine parts (hand-picked, of course), etc.) 'Afraid 'can't unscramble an egg.
OK here's a fun topic, what's the professional series with cars closest to actual production cars? GT4 is the best I can come up with off the top of my head.
