You have about 7.7% leakage on the cylinder shown. Oil probably from a bad valve seal.

I looked at the picture as well, I guess I'm missing it. Is something wrong with the cylinder wall or is the rod bent?

I want to know how they got that out with the steering wheel still there. I had to drop the steering wheel.

If you remove the lower dash corner on the drivers side, by removing the rivets and the nuts holding it to the main dash the unit is able to be pulled without touching the steering wheel.

Sure looks like a bent rod to me. Something hit it (or it hit something) on the LH side on the picture.

OK Thanks. Did not know that.

That sounds harder than dropping the steering wheel.
Two bolts and it drops out of the cradle and can be lowered on to the seat.
Give it a tug and the whole assembly comes right out of the car. (Mark the connection joint!)

True but it needs to be separated anyway if your re trimming the dash so it’s time saving to remove the corner it’s actually very easy with a swivel head ratchet spanner to remove the retaining nuts.

Looks like an optical illusion to me due to the camera angle and the curve outward at the bottom where it connects to the crank. If you move your head to the right when staring at the photo, the bend straightens out.

Nope. As others have said, it's an optical illusion. I have a few other pics from Dan directly from the side and the rod is completely straight. I might post one later when I have some more time.

~41k miles. I don't have the exact number handy.

You're right. It's a long list, and it's unfortunate (especially for my wallet). But it has to be made right. No shortcuts. I already can't wait to get it back.

Correct. Were just pointing out the light silver rub marks on the rod.
