So we can deduce Icona is the legit Ferrari range hidden inside the mainstream production ..[/QUOTE]

I m not saying that. The mainstream production is full of high quality, reliable and exciting cars. My point is that it is good to see a car built with beauty as priority 1 every now and then! Icona is what it was meant to be from the start. It is a key element in Ferrari‘s identity an essential link between the past and the future
... and a pretty serious profit generator from the looks of it

I believe this is the case- some kind of deployable roll protection. The California and Portofino have this.

I also have heard the Monza will be GPF free. :)

Looks like deployable roll protection in (each of) the rear buttress(es). See the shut line around the front / top section of the buttress in the photos posted by @TSOYBELIS at this link: 812 Monza . Would expect a roll-over strut would emerge from that point if the worst were to happen.

Yes but without a roof or even a windshield that would be an unacceptably dangerous situation indeed.

Or... with no windshield, no risk of broken glass causing nasty cuts and, with no roof, much lower risk of getting trapped in side if you were to roll it. Perhaps its safer than being locked in a tintop.

Doubtful. A strong set of A-pillars, B-pillars and a structural roof adds a lot more protection if safety is the concern. I think this was not the goal of the particular car this time around. Fair enough if not a big concern for buyers. The sound is well done and I like the wheels.

Unlikely as most cars will be delivered after 1 January 2020 when the new emissions rules start in Europe requiring a GPF. Unless Ferrari wants to make the car non-road legal in Europe as well (which is unlikely) or going to pay the emissions fine out of its own pocket (a bit more likely since they are making big profits on the Monza), the production cars are going to be GPF equipped.

No head and neck either, so no need to get out at all. Problem solved.

    Yep.

Just a reminder of the 60s when race drivers wore leather helmets, no seat belt or harness, and genuinely believed that having the opportunity to be thrown clear of the car in an accident was the best possible outcome.

So may be, Monza is safe if you don’t wear the seatbelt.

Maybe the answer for you guys is a Volva with a full roll cage, fire suppression system, helmet, Hans and diapers. Oops almost forgot the Ralph Nader handbook.
