Haha! No, I fell off the bloody ladder at work. Did a good job. Almost completely ripped the ACL graft they put in in 2011 and tore some meniscus. Absolutely spewing as I was enjoying work and don’t really want several weeks off. On the plus side, it does allow me to watch a lot more sport than I otherwise would.
Jeezus that sounds really painful Steve....Hope you recover quickly mate...I might have to send you a second Officer to push the rudder pedals for you and give you a BJ.....
Bummer. Hopefully your docs are taking a conservative approach?? I’d be advising “see how you go”. More often than not, having an arthroscope and “clean up” will accelerate onset of osteoarthritis, I see it all the time on follow up MRI scans...
Thanks Greg. Yeah we’re not looking to do another re-con, but I am having an arthroscopy in a couple of weeks. For now plenty of physio and hydrotherapy to strengthen it. Plus it’s still pretty swollen. Obviously I’m not playing high level sport, but I still want to be able to go hiking, play golf, have the odd hit of tennis etc.
The more movement now the better, will help swelling go down too. Hopefully they won’t need to trim too much when they scope. The less they need to do the better off you’ll be.
Ouch! I thought pilots were too senior to fool around with ladders! My 11 year old just fell off his mountain bike. Needed a surgical scrub under GA. Missed the tendon by millimetres. Must be knee week. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my SM-N920I using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Ewwwww... at least he got some anaesthetic - I came off a horse years ago and did something not too dissimilar but the attending doctor was so annoyed that I hadn't kept my tetnus shots up to date that is scrubbed it clean with disinfectant and zero painkillers... I learned my lesson; still have the scars on my knee.
Cheers guys. He'll be OK. Should make a full recovery, but he's a pretty good athlete, and keeps indulging in risky behaviour (must get it from his mother), which always gives him an injury at critical parts of the season.
