New owner of a black 1987 328 GTS. Can post pics later. I was messing with the dash vents and the louver on the center vent came off and dropped down the vent. Any ideas on how to retrieve?

Actually, I was serious. You'll need to remove the entire vent, and go fishing for your missing piece.
from the top, I take it from your post, and not from the bottom the vent pops out from the dash easily?
