Nice looking, I especially like the tail lights and the verticle LED strip in the back, using those materials appropriately. However, an electric hyper car interests me not at all to be honest. Meh.
gorgeous but maybe a little too small for hypercar category. not a fan of electric but can only hope its successful for lotus the company.
and im interested in how they mounted the batteries. isnt the idea of all electric to put batteries inside the bottom of the chassis for lowest possible c of g? but lotus looks like they stacked them behind the seats same as a motor would go.
the front wheel area plus the blade like side edge, as well as the slanting side skirt are quite similar to the aston martin 003. the open underbody design could be inspired by the valkyrie. the 2-tone canopy and treatment near the rear window is quite frankly directly influenced by laferrari, especially when viewed from the top. the overall proportion of the car from profile view is very similar to the concept sketches of laferrari as well. the centre console is just like the 918. the split tail reminds me of the battista too. i mean, it is not an ugly car, but it clearly took a lot of inspiration/influences from other manufacturers and it lacks identity imo.
$1.9 mil? https://www.thedrive.com/news/29007/the-2020-lotus-evija-is-a-breathtaking-1972-horsepower-ev-hypercar or $ 2.3 mil https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/future-cars/a28399953/lotus-evija-electric-hypercar-photos-specs-info-price/
I like it. Better than any McLaren. Beautifully simple but right lines that are expressive. And a quick charge time that is almost good enough to be as effective as gassing up. An ICE version would be killer... SV Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
problem for ice version is what motor would they put in it? another toyota? maybe lexus v8? meh. electric is the way to go for this imo
It looks phenomenal. Much better looking than any McLaren IMO. Good luck to them. Shame it's electric, but I get the reasoning...
Theyre going mercedes amg power. Geely owns somehting like 20% of mercdes now. A new 2500lbs elige with a 450hp amg gla motor.
From what i hear its on the way, probably better built and more comfortable than the current elige, also more $$$
I've seen first hand Lotus's build quality improve through the ongoing evolution of the Evora. I can only expect it to get better in the near future. If they are going to be putting Mercedes engines in Lotus cars, that's a winning combination -- it may be time to buy a new Lotus! I just hope the styling is more Esprit-like and less Elise-like. I was never a fan of the insect space pod look, and now it's gotten old.
read that current Evora gt is the last of the line for current lotus cars. next car will be a new gen. couldn't have been better timing to get out of dodge now that c8 sheriff is in town. Evora gt is a good comparo to new gt4 though. same weight, hp, and price.
I drove an evora 400 at the glen last month. Much as I love lotus it was underwhelming. It felt soft, the steering was overboosted.
