This one went for 30K at Barrett-Jackson. https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/1990-FERRARI-MONDIAL-CABRIOLET-232237
Seems like a steal to me, even assuming it needs a service. What was the stated mileage, what was the Carfax mileage inconsistency?
That was the problem - no info at all other than colors, VIN and the "title in transit" statement. That tells me it was a quick flip. I bet the "owner" didn't know anything either.
A few reasons for this. The speedometer, speedometer sensor, and cable are all known fault points. The second possibility is somebody purposely disengages the the cable or manipulates the counter, which is laughably easy as well.
Looks like teh David Carradine Mondial T Valeo is up for auction, AGAIN. Pros: It's a Valeo, it's black. Cons: It has 50,000 miles and seems to have changed hands a lot lately. Makes you wonder why? My gut tells me it keeps trading hands a low price, and that it is not being bought by the proper custodians. It probably needs about $10,000 worth of service to make it right, and the low price buyers are not prepared to make that commitment. https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/ferrari/mondial/2286278.html
Agree. Might even need double that amount in mechanical restoration. People STILL think these cars are "cheap", which I guess they are when comparing to a $50k top engine rebuild on a 365. But they're in a whole different orbit of cost and ease of repair if you're used to old Porsche's and American classics.
Just bought Andrew's Maronne 3.2 so my QV has to go after I just put new wheels on too, oh well. Can't keep 3 Ferraris. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Absolutely!! I've owned red, blue, silver, and titanium Mondials, but never Marrone!! So exciting....
Nicely presented, and I love their enthusiasm. Color scheme certainly intended for northern climes (way up north). ZFFRK33A3N0091538 https://www.ebay.com/itm/1992-Ferrari-Mondial-T-Cabriolet-/113796356782 Image Unavailable, Please Login
four Mondials, three Ferraris, ... would you happen to have two calling birds and a partridge in a pear tree? lol
Not sure if I'd want a convertible in northern climes... but then, I'm a Georgia peach. Atlanta is about as far "north" as I'd want to live during the winter.
Holy leather interior Batman. 1991 Ferrari Mondial https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/auction/ferrari/mondial/2293121.html
What is the "70" for? (On the side flank, under the Pininfarina badge). I can't zoom in enough to read it. I like the "Daytona-style" seats, but I'm not thrilled about the color mix (tan/red) or the red dash & steering wheel. Definitely... different.
It looks like the 70th anniversay badge/logo and maybe the colors are fitting for the current "livery"? https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/70th-ferrari-liveries.556560/ Badge example, from a different car: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Especially in this climate. My friends in the business are saying used exotic business is very slow, particular for Ferrari. Most folks are betting the economic cycle to do it's thing anytime now.
