New children: 1970 Series II E-type w/ the triple SUs in lieu of the standard twin Strombergs. 1974 Mini - ditched the 998cc in favor of a 1275 bored to 1310 - added a supercharger from a 2003 German Mini. Holy crap it's fun and fast. Yes, the Mini is cool, but the E-type is . . . well, an E-type, and they don't come much cooler than that! I would, however, ditch the wood trim on the dashboard and gear lever if it were my car.
Hi Blue - as far as I'm concerned, your earlier E-Type coupe is the ultimate. The good news about my E-type dash is that that wood panel is only held in by the two thumbscrews that you remove to get to the fuses; so it takes only a minute to remove the wood. The first two pics were taken the day it showed up at the house. One of these days I'll get the correct knob - XKs Unlimited and SNG Barratt both have them. Add'l pic w/ Dad's car at a Santa Fe C&C before he sold it almost a year ago now. Just about the only time an E-Type will be ignored - parked next to the Little Blue Car . . .
