Does anyone know why the 488 rear brake pad set is more expensive than the front?

That certainly wouldn't make sense if it is true.

Maybe the higher rear price includes the EPB pads AND the rear brake pads. I will check with F service.

...but then why would I change the EPB pads. I don't see why they would be worn at all?

EPB pads are $871.02, so still cheaper.

And I can't imagine it is more than two extra minutes of labor to replace the EPB pads unless you have to take the whole caliper off to replace them. Even then, it should be pretty easy for a mechanic. I'm not, and I can do it in thirty minutes. That being said, I did have one car where you had to disconnect the sway bar to get the rear caliper off. That was a pain in the butt, but I don't think the 458 is designed that way.

A bit off topic, but looking at the parts diagrams, it’s clear that Ferrari went with a different design for the 488 vs 458 brakes. On the 458, a brake pad swap only requires removing the wheels and tapping out two retaining pins. On the 488, it looks like the same job requires removing the calipers.
