I will be picking up my 2013 458 Spider this Saturday. This will be my first experience with a Ferrari ever and I have to say, the sales experience at Wide World of Ferrari and Maserati in NY was great.

The exterior looks of the 458 are what my wife and I fell in love with. While it has very low miles (around 8-9k), it doesn't have too much in terms of options (which I don't mind). However, it is CPO'd, and we have purchased 2 years of extended warranty.

We will be trading in our 2013 Mp4-12c after only about 7 months of ownership which I have to say I have mixed feelings about. The car was indeed super fast with the twin turbos, but it was difficult getting in and out of and it was in the shop for about 3-4 months. Fortunately, warranty covered everything.

Anyway, I can't wait to see how the 458 is and I hope it is ever bit as bulletproof as I have heard people mention on these forums!

Btw, do any of you know where I can get gap insurance? I went with Ferrari Financial and neither they nor my insurance company State Farm offer this...

Huge congrats and yes pictures please. Im sure this will be an excellent upgrade from the mp4 (in the sense that it will spend more time on the road and not in the shop). I would add that the mileage isnt that low, but it is ideal since you dont want a garage queen.

    Concrats on your new car.

A little suggestion. You might want to go ahead and replace the battery. Not only are Ferrari OE batteries among the absolute worst batteries on the market, you don't know how it was "treated".

Don't wait for things to go wrong which will spoil your fun. Just get it replaced right away with a quality battery. Cheap insurance and peace of mind.

    Good luck.

Congrats! I had a 15 spider and it was great fun.
Also had 650s and while faster than a 458 of course, it was a boring ride like the 488 is. 458 is great theater!

Congratulations! You will thoroughly love the 458! I'm on my 2nd one (a 2014). My first was a 2013 which I purchased new. I sold it 3 years later and missed it so much I bought another. Enjoy and drive it in good health.

Yes all normal and if you had carbon interior even worse. It’s a spider, more moving parts and good old Italian crappy fit and finish but...........do you still hear them in spirited driving while the roof is open??
    That’s the only question!
Low speed or highways are just bad, car shakes, steering too, squeaky noises from all over the place and I get kind of angry and disappointed until I drive it hard!

It’s like a lover that is total ***** and you can’t live with her until you ride her and remember why you put with all that crap.

Thanks everyone. Good to know that this is just all part of the ownership "experience"!

I love driving with the top down as it is so exhilarating to hear the roar of the engine, but I've already gotten slight heat stroke a couple of times already :).

You will fall in love very quickly with this car.

I have a 2015 Avus Bianco Spider Black/Red interior - I will never sell this car.

    Enjoy.

And: yes, it squeaks, rattles, shakes etc, but it also screams, wails, barks - it's alive - you can keep your turbo charged 488s and the like.

Lol that's absolutely the truth! I was cruising down a local highway and going between 50-60mph depending on traffic. I was too busy enjoying myself and the car hehehe. Every once in a while I was able to get it to 80-90mph but for very short bursts.
