Hopefully this means that Astros bats are starting to come back around.
Should the Yankees make a play for Madison Gumgarner? That would certainly boost the starting rotation Sent from my Nexus 6P using FerrariChat.com mobile app
With the Giants having elevated themselves back into the wild card race, they might not be willing to give up Mad Bum, or anyone else.
That "elevated" to the playoff race is fools gold. If the Giants don't get rid of some of their tradeable players now their immediate and long term future will be screwed. Sent from my Nexus 6P using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I’m not a Yankees fan but I’ve got to admit Luke Voit is a brute taking a 91mph fastball to the face and staying in the game. https://www.google.com/amp/s/ftw.usatoday.com/2019/07/yankees-luke-voit-takes-fastball-to-the-mouth-stays-in-the-game-to-score-run/amp
A couple of my favorite players - Edgar Martinez and Mariano Rivera - got inducted into the Hall of Fame today. Two classy individuals, and their speeches reflected that. Derek Jeter next year!
Good to see the Hall showing respect for positions that have been overlooked in the past, reliever and DH...T
Here in Atlanta, they remain convinced that Dale Murphy should be in the Hall. Since he played before I got here, I'm neutral in that argument.
Intriguing case. When he was at the top of his game, he was among the best. My recollection was that he didn't really have sustained excellence. Plus, I don't think those Braves teams did much in postseason...T
I don't think any of those Braves teams even MADE it to the postseason, in spite of Murphy's best efforts. It was a grim period for Atlanta baseball.
Yuli Gurriel is so damn good. I don't know how it made that link. I just copied his name from the web because I didn't know how to spell it.
Yanks/Twins had a Barn Burner last night. What a game. Hicks didn't dive for the ball to finish the game, He flew (is flying legal in Baseball) https://www.foxsports.com/mlb/video/1575681603807
Jeez. Tanaka got shelled tonight like the Japanese fleet. 12 runs in less than 4 innings! At least the last Yankee pitcher to do that - Red Ruffing in 1939 - is in the Hall of Fame!
19 runs last night, 10 runs (so far) tonight. The Yankees seem to have what the Daily News once referred to as a "Staff Infection"! They currently have a 10-game lead on the BoSox, but if the two teams keep playing the way they are, it would not shock me if Boston made up that entire deficit by season's end.
I'll bag on Correa for being in his fiances youtube videos (and that she seems a bit psycho), but the dude can ball. Been out for most of the season it seems like and is playing great already.
Cool story. Pablo Sandoval, what a great guy. And look at the smile on his face holding the baby. So cool. https://www.sfchronicle.com/giants/article/A-Giants-tale-of-a-Sandoval-homer-a-14190696.php#photo-17959079
Zack Greinke to the Astros must make Astros the favs to win the AL. Braves getting Greene and Melancon puts them as favs to win the NL IMHO. Dave
The Dodgers is all I've heard for the NL really. I've never heard the Braves mentioned at all. They're not taken seriously it seems.
Tweet— Twitter API (@user) date I heard audio of a yankees fan on the radio this morning that said, "First Verlander, then Cole, now Greinke.....we're ****ed!!". Hilarious! https://blacksportsonline.com/2019/07/details-on-astros-pulling-off-trade-for-zack-greinke-before-the-deadline-yankees-fans-react-as-you-would-expect-vid-tweets/
