Being that the automotive industry is now in the cross roads of going hybrid and we all are not getting any younger,

has any one figure already what cars they would like to keep till they are old and unable to drive by themselves. I mean you yourself?

I think, between what is going to be available in the future, what I really enjoy driving and what I can afford right now, there are atleast personal cars I own right now that I would like to keep.

    1. e39 M5
    2. 997 turbo
    3. Scuderia

I would still buy a few more ferraris but just to experience something new. And the others that I own, I would still keep and see how things goes. The the 3 I would keep.

These 3 where my dream cars and I am blessed to be able to own them later when they are used, as when they where new, I was not financially ready yet. Really blessed.

Anyone has figured out these early?

I would like an E30 M3, Alpine A110 and a nice GTB 308 (carb or injected)

If I could afford a 246, I would take a GT and settle for just one car.

I was scouting for an E30 m3 for months then found a recently imported dogleg but I backed out. But I did not thought I made the wrong decision. I think the e30 m3 is for someone else, not me.

If I could have 4 cars for the next 50 years it would be these:

    Sedan - E39 M5
    Sports car - 350Z
    GT car - R34 GTR
    Utility - Defender 110

If I actually had a workshop and more money, I'd want to add a custom E39 M5 touring, E46 M3 touring, and 993 Targa with Turbo S conversion. But that's a discussion for another day...

We got a 2019 Miata a few months back, and it is really, really good. I love it. I can see myself keeping it for the next 30 years.

My S2000 that I currently own is staying with me and I would like to add a 308qv, would like a gtb but currently can’t fit my husky physique in one however if I shrink as I get older maybe it will become an option but if not I would be content with a gtsiqv. My other constant is a 911 preferably a 964 c2.

As the years go by, I would drive my fav cars than have them sit in the garage.I would not just want to use them as dailys as I feel it becomes less special if you do it. But meaningful drives and experiences. Even if it racks up 100k miles. And when I am done, I dont care how much it sells.

So I think 3 cars or max 4, I would keep for my self, besides my dailys.

I always had a dream of owning 5 significant cars from each "major" country of manufacture, and each car from a different era (1960s / 70s / 80s/ 90s / 00s) to represent the time I've been on earth. The list would look something like this:

    1966 Jaguar E-Type (I own)
    1972 Datsun 240z (I owned, but sold - I regret that)
    1984 Ferrari 308 GTS (I own)
    1993 Porsche 993 (don't own - I want)
    2004 / 2005 Corvette Z06 (don't own - probably want)

I realize now that it's probably a pipe dream, but I have toyed with the idea of selling the E-Type and getting another 240Z + a Lotus Elise S2. That may still happen.
