Okay i asked is it a big job they said they never seen this recall it is from 2000 for euro cars? Has anyone else done a recall like this? Image Unavailable, Please Login

Pretty surprised that they still were willing to do this. Must be a real safety issue(?). Also interesting that it's for the Euro cars-- not the US ones(?)

They said it was for euro cars and the first one ferrari of new england has done. I dont see a euro transmission being any different then a USA model.

Do you guys think the dealership will cut me a deal on a clutch since the transmission is coming out anyway?

Exactly what I was thinking-- Is there a difference between the USA and Euro trans(?). Especially since it's so specific. A "transmission gear screw". Am I to think there is a different screw for the USA trans?

I have an '03 F1. Not seeing that it was done as a recall. Is your car a 6MT or an F1? Is your car a Euro? Mine's a USA.

Jut looked on Ferrari.com there are two for mine, a cluster reprogram and the screw replacement. Will call tomorrow for details. If it is the ring gear screw I don't need it.. will see.

The old type of ring gear (for the starter motor - bolted to the fly wheel), had a 3 bolt design.
Quite a few 360 experienced that the ring broke and was shot thru the bell housing = major failure.

Ferrari issued a campaign to change the old type for a 6 bolt version instead.
Mine is a 2000 and it had the ring gear changed when the clutch was changed. I believe that Ferrari changed to the 6 bolt design in 2001/2002 (please chime in).

This is probably what the OP means with ”transmission gear screw”...

Nope - same trans and same bolts.

Biggest difference between Euro / U.S. cars is the smog equipment and all that goes with it (for instance the exhaust manifolds on U.S. cars have an additional air rail on top of them - euro cars don’t).

Exactly! 6 bolt design in later models. Mine is a 99' and I saw last year when I had the clutch replaced that mine was upgraded to the 6 bolt in the past by a prior owner.

If it is the 6 bolt upgrade and a cluster reprogram I'm not sure I'm going to do it. Don't have ANY problems with my cluster. Not sure I want them monkeying with it and screwing things up...

Do wonder why NOW there is a recall.... wait till the number of 360's is dropped by half so pay less to have work done? ;)

Maybe somehow the bolt punctured a gas line and cause fire in one or two cases in Europe hence a recall ?
