Thanks, I’ve only made it to cars and coffee in Vernon hills this year, some lambos, mclaren, and a 458.
The place to be this weekend is Road America. I saw a lot of sportscars on the way up today to the IMSA sportscar races. Last year for the factory Ford GT team and the last year for the Corvette C7R factory team. Also a TCR Alfa Giulietta showed up. These cars are built up in Milano by Romeo Ferraris. They don't even sell this model in the US so kind of strange to see it here. Thanks. It was my grandmother’s. 351 Cleveland, 240 horse, 350 torque. Looks better in pictures. It’s a 15footer. In my son’s defense, he does drive it at least twice a week during the summer.
incredible. you have the best car stories on fchat. storybook stuff. would love to hear all the details of this car and the QM
My grandfather always bought my grandmother “little old lady” four door fords. She wanted a Cadillac convertible (he told me after she died that not getting her one was one of his biggest regrets). So in 1972, she took her car in for an oil change and saw the mustang grande. It was the dealer demo car from 1971. She told the dealer to keep her little old lady car and brought the mustang home instead. When I bought my first house in 1997, my grandfather said I could have it. So my then girlfriend, now wife, and I drove it back from California. The car is an October 1970 build with power disc front brakes, Komfortweave seats, a/c(currently non operating), and a host of other weird features. I just ordered some parts to tart it up to sell/trade including the replacement seats (10-12 week wait). I’ve tons of stories with it, but I’ve had my fun, and I need something a little more modern.
that's what im talkin bout. best stories. amazing what memory brings to light. you can keep posting and forever freeze your stories in the digital world forever , or I would be more than pleased to hear them in person.
I heard that they weren’t having it any more. Apparently there were complaints from other businesses nearby about people coming to see the show and then peeling out with a lot of noise and safety issues—I think there might have been one case of property damage as well.
