Sure, what do you like and what kind of budget?

In Pasadena, hotels are a bit limited, but the Langham is quite nice and staid and usually has some reasonable rates. Downtown hotels are a good option to Pasadena, I like both the Hotel Figueroa or the Nomad.
In West Hollywood you might want to try the new One Hotel. I got a good rate there recently, it's modern, upscale, and centrally located.
Lots of other places too depending on preference and budget.

Restaurants are all over the place. I can suggest Michelin starred, taco trucks and everything in between.

The Intercontinental is good. If you want to do lunch in Santa Monica try Ivy by the Shore. The Ivy adjacent to Beverly Hills is good if you want to look for “stars”. The Hotel will be able to tell you the best restaurants in the area. They all come and go. I used to go to Spago’s 30 years ago. You should check out the Peterson while you are in Beverly Hills. Awesome car museum.

    thx for that.
the online price changed , went way up, on the intercontinental while i was thinking about it - dont know how they think that will get you to book it!
anyway, i am still on the hunt for the right hotel.

that santa monica tip sounds good. dont really care about stars at all - the stars i like are all dead !

have been to the peterson. wow! loved it. went there intending to stay 2 hours and only got kicked out at closing time 6 hours later.

The Jonathan Club downtown has rooms, is equidistant between weho and Pasadena, and has reciprocity with your RAC

the jonathan was great ! the town club is very reminiscent of the rac, and the added bonus of the beach club was fantastic - will be doing that again.

the kali restaurant was fine.....service was attentive but somewhat slow. the food was hit and miss - some dishes were 10/10 and others 6/10. very noisy.
'bone kettle' in pasadena was very good too, but not sure i would make a special trip.
