I think the trick to this car is buy the cheapest standard rims and look for better ones in the aftermarket. Neither particularly attractive to me. I like the star but the offset is just weird. The other looks like a snowflake.

Interesting photo vs the Supra You can see how much better the C8 is. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hard to believe they both weigh about the same at approx. 3400 lb. The C8 looks much bigger. (NOT fat, just big boned )
Skip over the first 11:30 and see the C8 next to the Supra. HINT: you might want to turn the sound off too.
I’m still struggling with the overall design. The nose seems to sit so...’high’ and blunt. I can appreciate a shorter front overhang but on this it seems out of place proportionally. And the greenhouse also sits up tall on the body....giving it a kind of chunky, bloated profile. The lack of spoiler does improve the outlook, however. Today's sports cars are getting away from "wings" and incorporating them into the overall design. 5 years ago this would have looked normal. Today it looks old fashioned. I like the look of the Countach without the wing as well.
Image Unavailable, Please Login This side by side outlook confirms my feelings. The Pista has a nearly perfect profile. It looks low slung, angled and sharp like it was fired from a bow! The cabin seems to sit below the tops of the wheels, enhancing the racy look. The Vette in contrast sits up high and chunky. The leading edge at the nose is also up high and the nose is blunted. Here is one instance where a bit more front overhang would have sharpened the look, becoming sleeker and more appealing to my eyes. BUT...in fairness. I haven’t liked the last few Vettes at the moment of their debut. I think the C7 is wonderful. I wouldn’t be shocked if I end up really liking it. Just not at the moment. And it appears that Toyota dealers didn't learn the lesson from Acura dealers. There are dealers asking upwards of $40,000 ADM's on launch edition Supras. Toyota has publicly stated that they are nervous about how the car will sell, dealers tacking on ADM's won't help. Same thing happened with the new NSX. Dealers adding $30-$50K ADM's and so the car got the reputation early on that it couldn't be had for under $200K. And there goes folks to R8/911 Turbo S/etc.... No question Honda screwed the pooch in a huge way with the NSX, but the dealers sure didn't help. And now, the car is literally meaningless. But the largest hurdle is, much like the GT-R, the Supra is just ugly, IMO.
