If you read through the thread, I think you'll find that the general consensus is this. It will not be limited by numbers. It will however be a low volume car. How many? Don't know. Some speculate as few as 400-600, some as many as 1200-1400. None of us really know for sure what the final number will be. But it looks like it will not be the easiest car to get a hold of.
Hey this is Ferrarichat, and we enjoy Spiders. Please see your appropriate Lamborghini or Porsche forum for that Spyder talk
Hello, I have received an invite for 3rd Sept in Maranello for Universo Ferrari incl. 812 spyder viewing. Do you think that means we can order the car, or is it not that simple?
Only one highly spec'ed Portofino. Spoke to my dealer just now and he said Ferrari HQ have sent a list of pre-qualified customers to dealers who can order the car (presumably people with extensive ownership histories). However, the dealer then also has some discretion to add some names to the list. I figure going to the event can only help my chances, so I plan to!
I have a "contract" and a invite for 04.09.2019. But I have no confirmation from Ferrari. My dealer told me, he send a list to Ferrari and waiting for a result. Some got an invite for a Pista and dont get one. In the first step I was not on the Ferrari pre-qualified customer list. I think you have to wait at the end of the presentation.
Not sure what good that contract is going to do you. Ferari SpA has no obligation towards you or your dealer. Yes the list is out and it takes some ownership history etc. to get on it. Here in Europe I'd say those who know they are on the list already know. If one is not on the list, it looks like the only way to get a car, is if somebody drops out and that spot is not taken by others lower on the list. From what I've been to as far as 812 Spider qualifications go, I'm surprised that your dealer has written a "contract" and taken a deposit from you, considering the fact that your only ownership history is an F8 on order. Not sure what the Pista has to do with anything. There were no invitation needed to purchase a Pista here in Europe as far as I've heard of
Didn't you post earlier that you had an F8 on order but didn't own other Ferraris? I may recall incorrectly, just thought that was the case.
I just received the detailed program of Casa Ferrari at Pebble Beach, 16th-18th August at the cocktail on Friday there will be an “unveiling”....last year was the world premier of Pista Spider......this year let’s wait and see Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think you're right. The hint about celebrating the 90th Anni is quite a lead. I can't see them unveiling the 812 at Pebble prior to the world premiere. It's not a car targeted at US clients specifically, and it is just way too early. It does however make a lot of sense to have a viewing of the SF90 for the US clientele at C d'E. I think everything new will now debut in Maranello in the new settings there.
Haha France people get an Cocktail. German an Flying Buffet at the same time .-) I just got my invitation.
It may vary country to country but I think the process for launches is more sophisticated now. The people invited are the best prospects (dealer proposed and Ferrari approved).Dealers are then expected to get as many contracts and deposits as possible from those customers they have taken to launch. Not saying it will not happen but I would be very surprised if you get the invitation to launch and are then not asked if you want to buy the car.
Thank you! Fingers crossed By the way, assuming I am invited to buy I intend to make my deposit conditional on the car not having a Gasoline Particle Filter (or at least not one that is integrated into the engine - if it’s not integrated it can be removed after delivery). For me, a big part of the appeal is the V12 noise... For what it’s worth my dealer in the UK told me only the SF90 has the GPF of the current line up... but we will see! Anyone else as worried about this issue as me?
Crap. Makes it seem unlikely the 812 spider will escape without it? Hopefully people like Novitec will come up with solutions for the exhaust, but if GPF integrated into engine that will be difficult..
I’m looking forward to going on the viewing in about 3 weeks - I’m still hoping they have the glass bonnet cut outs like the trs or SP3JC....
