Actually we're also pretty tired of that statement: in exchange for WW2 we have supported the US in: Korea Vietnam Iraq 1&2 Afghanistan Bosnia and every other skirmish NONE OF WHICH INVOLVED US.
Fame, notoriety, comradery. The Sandy Hook shooter admired Aders Brevik, and wanted to match his body count. The El Paso shooter wrote support the the Chirstchurch shooter's (the Australian guy) manifesto.
My wife and I retired 4 years ago, moving from NJ to TX to be close to our son, his wife and 5 year old grandson. By doing so I not only don’t have to contend with ice and snow during the winter which is great as long as my AC keeps working well but I also am helping to make TX more “blue” which would mean it is more likely we would get some meaningful gun legislation. I used to be a hunter and target shooter, using both a bow and gun, not at the same time, and know the appeal of those items to many. However, I see no reason why rapid-fire guns, high-capacity magazines, silencers, or high-velocity ammunition designed by the military for killing the enemy should be available for purchase by the public, no matter how badly they want/need them not what they claim is permitted by the second Amendment. I see signs at the local hospital, my doctor’s office and other places accessible to the public prohibiting guns on the premises. I also read previously and again in the past few days that killers supposedly go to places where guns are not permitted because there are “safe” targets. They might be correct but making that assumption seems to fly in the face of the position of many on the right, including Trump and the NRA, that we need better mental-health screening to prevent the crazies out there from getting guns. If I remember correctly, the El Paso shooter had on both eye and ear protection and I also believe I heard that he used an over mitt to protect his hands from the rifle’s hot barrel. Pretty sharp for a “crazy” it seems to me. If it is true that the more guns that the good guys out there pack, the fewer mass shooting we’ll have, then I propose states require any business that has a facility open to the public offer both a location where everyone entering MUST pack suitable “heat.” In order to be fair to those who prefer not to be around guns and are willing assume any risk associated with that view, it should be required that such a location be available. Fair is fair. I am looking into how in the world my beloved state of Texas, land of the free and home of the brave, ever passed a law allowing a company to prohibit guns on their property. With the NRA and all the gun nuts out there who must have opposed that legislation, how in the H*** did that ever become law. Inquiring minds want to know.
I think you'll find, if you speak to an actual veteran, who fought side by side with Australian soldiers, that they wouldn't refer to us that way
And (far more importantly)... it should be required that all vegetarian restaurants MUST offer meat options to non-vegetarian customers who have been dragged there by a partner or friend who insists on evangelising their diet choice. Let’s stop that madness!
Or they could just hand out guns to customers when they enter the store. That was Archie Bunker's idea 50 years ago.
True. More like party animals. Crazy sense of humor too. https://www.theguardian.com/world/video/2018/jun/14/nazi-flag-flown-on-australian-army-vehicle-video
Oh Karen... my wife is a conservative and a remedial learning specialist, she gets the kids who can't read or write after 3 years of schooling. She has to keep her opinions firmly to herself, because the entire education administration and the teachers union control not only the curriculum but also what is and isn't acceptable to say. Each teacher has to teach the curriculum verbatim. The disease of leftism never stops. NSW teachers are now given training in gender language and appropriate pronouns. The curriculum has a new group of nouns for describing transgender children. If you read the HSC curriculum on climate change, it's nothing other than a Greens manifesto. Meanwhile we have ever declining levels of literacy and numeracy. As for Q&A, I highly recommend you attend as an audience member. It's free and hilarious. When you register as an audience member (ABC website) you get to nominate your political preference and are told that there is a quota for each group, too many lefties and you won't get in. Because nobody checks, the game is that diehard greens declare themselves as Liberals and then stroll through the door. The night I went, I would estimate about 5% of the audience were Liberal voters, just by the conversation in the waiting area. The rest were typical inner city virtue-signalling identity-politics lefties.
Springfield Walmart Gunman This was just released by the prosecutor's office. It doesn't sound like the guy actually threatened anyone directly. Any good defense attorney could likely poke holes in their case. https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/6251358-DMITRIY-N-ANDREYCHENKO.html
Big kudos to your wife - toughest job out there so huge respect for her. BUT the reason she is alone is because so few other 'conservatives' travel this path; it is a fact of life that the 'caring' professions are largely left to 'bleeding heart leftys' because conservatives don't put their hand up for these jobs very often... Interesting comment on the QnA - when poltics is involved all sorts of lies get told ; no honour or responsibilty in most people these days...
Fantastic! Archie was my favorite bigot and really funny as well. How in the HELL did you think of or find this clip? You must be an old codger like me. Many thanks!!!
Update on Springfield, Missouri "terrorist" - Press release from Greene County Prosecuting Attorney Dan Patterson - Aug 9, 2019 Mr. Patterson is thankful that no one was injured at the Walmart, and asks that you join with him in your thoughts and prayers for the Battlefield Police Officer and citizen who were injured in a vehicle collision as the officer responded to the Walmart. https://www.springfieldmo.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=6083 Might 20 year old Dimitriy N. Andreychenko be facing another charge for "causing an accident? If convicted of that as well as leaving the store through a restricted, emergency exit (not continuing to push his shopping cart I hope) could keep him in jail for at least a few days I fear. Hope the case makes it onto "Court TV." Is that still on TV?

"You're a Racist" is the left's fallback position in the US. Now we know the "Russia Collusion Hoax" didn't work, and they have nothing on Trump.
The car crash was typical "Keystone Cops" activity we see a lot of in the US. It appears that Mr. Andreychenko is a rights auditor, and not a domestic terrorist. These are people who deliberately engage authorities over rights guaranteed in the US Constitution, which are regularly trampled on, and video record for public display. Free speech, illegal search and seizure, firearms possession, etc. Example:
I can think of one Aussie FChatter who would enjoy behaving like that if he were a US citizen Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
A couple of days after yet another "mentally ill lone wolf" attack in Sydney, I notice that multiculturalism is not working out so well in the UK.... https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-42749089 387 people died from mass shootings in the US in 2018, 285 from knife attacks in the UK. US population 327m, UK 66m. So you're roughly 4 times more likely to die in a knife attack in the UK, than in a mass shooting in the US.
