Looking to purchase my first F355 and noticed in the 2.7 engine bay there are 2 differences near the back of the engine...one style has separate lines to 2 canister looking things with a line going to each of them and the other style has 2 lines coming together in the centre back area.. What and why is there a difference in the 2.7 ? I see all 5.2 have the lines in the centre back area. (first pic is together, second pic is separate).

    Thanks

First, that is the FRONT of the engine, not the back.
Second, those cannisters are fuel filters. The very first version of the 2.7 DME version carries over the dual fuel pump design of the 348 and therefore requires two separate fuel filters feeding separate banks of the engine. Later in the model year, they changed to a single fuel pump design which has only one fuel filter feeding both banks of the engine.
Third, your second picture shows a power steering fluid reservoir that is prone to leaks and really needs to be updated to a BMW type reservoir. Cheap fix.
Last, the first picture shows the fuel distribution block with the recall already done. Good job.
