I removed my flywheel position sensors to try and find the cause of a right bank misfire. The left bank sensor is marked "SEN 8F" but the right bank sensor is marked "SEN 8B". I thought they were both supposed to be the same part. Is there a different park for each side or is one of the sensors the wrong part? They both test okay, but the one for the right side is discolored and the wire insulation is frayed where they join the sensor, so I am thinking that may be my problem. Any help would be appreciated so I can order the correct item.

But first search for the number '119052' which is PROBABLY the correct pn and has some MUST READ posts about substitutes, prices and reference to an '8D' sensor.
Thanks for Info. I knew that the original is tha SEN 8F and that the SEN 8D is commonly substituted. The 8D is available from UK suppliers. I was thrown by the SEN 8B markings on the unit that was in my car. I can't find a reference to 8B, but that is clearly what the marking says. It seems to have been working up until my car developed its current problems.
I just stumbled on this problem this morning. The early engines had an SEN8F (Ferrari 128364) which has a different hole spcaing (26mm vs30mm) to the SEN8D (Ferrari 119052). The SEN8F is NLA from Marelli for a long time and Ferrari have incorrectly superceded it to 119052. You could use one but the holes would have to be redrilled and the mounting flange trimmed to fit.
This is for a 328, but may have some info for you. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/how-to-change-the-ferrari-328-crank-sensors.528254/
See this recent June 2019 thread for a discussion of the crank sensors: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/308-qv-ignition-problem-back-bank-will-not-continue-to-fire.602372/#post-146674165 I posted details of the 3 found on a 308 injected engine. The original Ferrari sensors, as mentioned, are NLA. The 119052 replacement is actually from a few Ford of Europe models, which is probably why it is still available. You do have to modify the mounting bolt holes to fit; that's well known and accepted as the only way you'll get a new replacement sensor. By the way, Superformance sells them for £36.75 - see Flywheel Pulse Unit/Crank Sensor 119052 here: http://www.superformance.co.uk/308/ignition.html Here's a comparison of one of my original sensors and a replacement (unmodified) sensor - mounting plate of the new sensor is too long, bolt hole spacing is too wide: Image Unavailable, Please Login Here's the comparison again with the modified sensor - snip off the ends of the mounting plate, use dremel to widen the bolt holes towards the middle: Image Unavailable, Please Login It's not pretty - but they're the only replacement sensors available, they work perfectly, and they're buried deep enough that you'll never see them
Hi, I was looking for the 119052 and thanks to you I've searched for the Marelli part # 64820083010 for my euro 308qv....it's much cheaper then the Ferrari part .. it costs €14,27. It doesn't surprise me but are you sure is the same part? https://www.autoparti.it/magneti-marelli/1826262 Image Unavailable, Please Login
