Hi folks, just want to do some research on a car I'm consider buying. The link is listed below.

It's a California car and had four previous owners. Has a carfax record but after a quick visual inspection, it doesn't seem to be a serious issue. I'm about to do a PPI in Ferrari specialist in Costa Mesa.

Does anyone in California know about this car?

    Thanks

    Vance

What records are available? For a car under 10K in miles you should be able to look all, back to when the car was sold. If they are not available ask why.
Try to find out why it is for sale. What does a CarFAx show? Who is the specialist? My idea of a Ferrari specialist is when I walk into their shop all I want to see are Ferrari's, not a mixture.
Price of this car seems low to me, why?

    Good luck.

    Went though the Carfax.

I discussed the price point with the dealer and they flat out told me because of the Carfax mark. Apparently, there are quite a few F430 in S Cal in this price range, but this one had a lot of factory options others done. The carfax mark offsets the value of the options.

Other than the the mark from 2008, everything seems to be good.

Other than the price point, I love the options this car had. Will be doing a PPI this week or next to see if everything looks good.

Just curious if anyone here knows this car. On the NSXPrime form, people usually can identify the car within the community.

    Thanks

Being a Spider (no roof and a bit more "flexible") I'd get a good description of the accident damage. Where it was, who fixed it, to what extent. I had even called on the body shop on occasion and actually spoke to the technician that did the repairs as a good unbiased source.

    Good luck. Stunning car.

At this miles and age i would be getting the upper and lower ball joints checked for wear, also condition of the ball joint seals. Track rod and tie rod ends for wear- wheels will move in 3 to 9 O clock direction when on jacks if worn. My 08 ones were replaced in steps from 3 to 12000 miles.

This is a good reason to take/keep good photos and records of damage thats reported. Could of been only a minor finder bender or a major accident. If it was something minor you have photos and repair records to show and offset Carfax report. Beautiful car BTW. Did you check the VIN in VINWIKI?

The dealer had a PPI done and I seen the report, and I'm about to request my own PPI. The damage seems to be strictly cosmetic. Nothing underneath, but will confirm when I do my own PPI.

I'm going to take a look at that car again today, but another one just surfaced with similar feature and price, at Phillips Motor Newport Beach.

I'll take some more photos when I see it.

If I by this car, it will be a keeper for a very very long time. I will go to grave with this car and my NSX. lol

The ad mentioned that it only comes with one key. Note that getting a second key will set you back $1,000.

At this age and miles, the service reports should be showing the upper ball joints and track rod ends as being renewed

Looks good in the pics. Hard to see all the details but at that price it is certainly worth consideration if you think it's the car for you. Like stated above, try and find out about the previous damage. Sometimes that info just isn;t available and a PPI would be in order with a focus on the evidence left over, if any.

to be honest I think the market has been really soft on a f430. I wouldnt consider a car with accident history with so many of them out there. But for the right price I would, say 80k? It's an 06 afterall, despite being a spider which is always priced a bit higher. With that said this car has some good options, the wheels, seats and the carbon brakes. Rear carbon grill would look even better on a blk car IMO. And as others mentioned, low mileage cars usually have some stuff that needs work and they are pricey, from personal and others' experience, so definitely build that into the price and see if that makes sense

With accident history despite the mileage, I agree I would be more comfortable in the low 80k range.

Any reason you're not considering a new C8 in this price range?
