I’ve just realized, unless I’m very much mistaken, the F8 will be the first Ferrari in a long, long time (at least decades, plural), to use a distinct Lamborghini design feature: venetian style rear window. I quite like it.

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.

The F8 is an aesthetic achievement, and will undoubtedly
be a highly capable and accomplished performer both on road and track. My lingering concern is whether it will adhere to the continuing evolution of advancing objective excellence to the exclusion of elevating the sensory driving experience. Blistering speed must not only exist, it must additionally be felt. The 720S and the 488 are both blindingly fast, but they lack the sensation of speed. Super cars are becoming increasing insular which results in isolating the car from the road and the car from the driver. The visceral thrill which used to be endemic to the super car driving experience has been replaced with refinement, comfort and technical excellence.

Hopefully the F8 will inject the soul, excitement and the adrenaline inducing thrills that makes super car driving the uniquely awesome experience it use to be.

My take is some roads are quite smooth and consistent, this is the main reason for “not feeling the blistering speed.” Like the bullet trains. Id tell you, uneven roads are tough on your lower back after 30 min in Sport mode of a a Huracan Fun for a while. The sensation of speed has do do more with the discomfort / disconcerting feel, ie g’s , rattle, vibration, sounds.. hence”track cars”. 30 mph on a skateboard, is feakingly fast.

F8 really is beautiful. Terrific mix of retro design cues combined with evolution of 488 styling. Add in Pista performance, I’m sold.

Do not agree with anything in this post. The sensation of speed has nothing to do with rough roads. In cars that evoke the sensation of speed as well as possessing it, such as Scuderia, Speciale, GT3RS, Performante, will do so on roads that are flat and smooth. These cars emit a sonorous exhaust sound that provide a gravitas that enhances the sense of speed that resonates through the body.Concomitantly, the driving dynamics unite rather than excessively isolate the suspension with the driver creating the illusion of being one with the car. The steering is so tactile and direct that every movement of the wheel elicits movement of the car in the desired direction, especially thrilling when the car is at high speed and in challenging maneuvering
situations. All these attributes of the above noted cars combine to elevate the sensation of speed which others that are objectively even faster, fail to impart.

I can say 100% the front sensors and camera if wanted blend MUCH better than the Pista which resemble pimples :(

F8 if a winner for sure. Total package but I'd take a Pista over it any day.

Spoke with my marketing manager today and he is still saying his early orders will be picked up in September for 1st quarter 2020 delivery. What are other US customers being told? Just curious because most seem to think 2 qtr 2020 and later for US cars.....

When you say picked up- do you mean start production?
