I was at Pebble Beach this past weekend speccing a new fcar at the Atelier and was told by the Ferrari rep that all 458’s including Pista and Pista Spider end in December.
If you take in to consideration the summer shut down, Christmas season holiday and the ramp up of the F8 it will be difficult to build more Pistas then the first half of 2019.
You are eliminating 5 weeks out of a 26 week window with holiday vacations. At best it would equal the first half of 2019 but unlikely.

Not that it matters too much but it seems there may actually be fewer than predicted at least in the US.

So I had thought the exact same for a while till the German sales manager came here and said he has allocations that are due to be delivered till summer 2020.

I can’t say that I don’t believe him cause I don’t know him from Adam and if he is a sales manager at ferrari he certainly knows more than me but I still tend to think that production is ending in December.

Your info just supports my belief. Time will tell.

at Pebble Beach I talk with the TM program resp about my Pista Spider delivery. when I completed my config in June I asked to have it delivered for my birthday in December. She told me impossible....will be Q1 or April-May 2020. I explained her the issue of possible production ending in 2019 and she replayed “I don’t have this information but may be they will tell me to hurry in the last minute”.
On Sunday by the way they had an appointment to config a Pista Spider at TM in Pebble Beach office and they told me it was the last TM Pista Spider for TM program. Normally TM car takes 8-10 months when confirmed.
From another trustable source, a F executive, I was informed F got a derogation till May 2020 to complete the Pista orders.

At the end if they will complete all Pistas in 2019 I will be very happy:)

Here some pics of TM office at PB....always a nice place to be!.....and I love Tricolore

While that is true, you have to also take into account higher production capacity overall. The 2019H1 production is already 15% more than 2018H1. And there is more capacity coming on all the time. The 15% addition is equivalent to two extra months. So very possible they keep it at the same level. And also given the upcoming emissions related changing, they could easily prioritize Pista over others, especially now that V8 cars are built on both lines.

FWIW, my Pista spider is due in Q2 next year according to my dealer.

science says the average of all guesses is usually within like 5% of the actual number, granted there are enough guesses. This short podcast is mind-boggling and explains the phenomenon

    https://www.npr.org/sections/money/2019/04/17/714289771/episode-644-how-much-does-this-cow-weigh

So, with most people saying between 2000-3000, low end being 1500 and high end being 4500, ball park is 2500-3000 total including spiders. While we may never know the exact number, my official guess is

    2488 ;)

My dealer says 2500 worldwide. I believe him. 1000 +/- in the US.

Boardwalk Ferrari got 30 Pista allocations. They are a large store (one of the largest). There are 38 Ferrari dealerships in North America, many of which are much smaller than Boardwalk in terms of sales volume. If the average allocation were 25 cars (probably not that much btw) then this would equate to 950 cars. Don't give a damn how many are worldwide as that doesn't affect NA values all that much.

Only 1 dealer in the DC area and they told me they got about 10. They have resold 2 of them btw. Mine is the 2nd one I've seen in person, I dont think there are many around.

People at Katie's today lost their minds over it, I was completely surrounded. :)

Maybe we should have a pista meet up. I'd never bring mine to Katies. May bring to Maserati's cars and coffee next week in Arlington

Sure thing but I will be out of town next weekend. Katies was fine but you do have to pay attention to the knuckle heads that don't have a clue. I opened up an auto shop for fun in Sterling near FoW, we will be doing our own C&C's soon. Killer concept - I won't post the name here as we have not paid for advertising on Fchat just yet but I will send a PM if interested.

This very useful website in the UK tracks the number of cars registered by type using government data. It shows that 356 Pista coupes delivered to UK by end of Q1 2020.

    https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/ferrari_488_pista_s-a

UK is generally 10% of the global production. Checking UK numbers vs known production like 458 SA, 599GTO, F12tdf, LAFERRARI are all in agreement with the 10% level.

This would mean over 3500 Pistas have been delivered globally by Q1 this year, and even with 50% lower production and switcc over to spider in Q2, 3500-4000 pista coupes will be produced. This compares with 2750 Speciale coupes using the same method.

Looking at the rate of deliveries vs the 458 speciale, pista deliveries are 300 cars per year annualised vs Speciale was approximately 150. This would explain the current sense of a glut of cars out there.

So the earlier prediction,in this thread, that U.S allotments of Pistas were around 1000 would be higher.......circa 1300?

All speculation.. I heard from my dealer Pista coupes are done. Who know if correct...

  19. Not enough if you're trying to spec one from scratch.

Too many if you bought one to bubble wrap.

Irrelevant if you bought one to drive the sh#t out of.
