430 F430 Spider limited to 2nd Gear

    So after coming back from Italy on a 4 hour drive, everything was fine with my F430 spider. The next day the gearbox and engine light came on and the battery sounded weak. I switched the battery and then went for a drive and the cars run smoothly but still have the same issues. I guess this is the F1 or Gearbox Sensor ?

    By any chance, did you hook up an OBDII reader and get a p2794? If so, did you get an advanced reader and narrow it down to a p1741? I ask because that's where I'm at with the same issue. As a note, if you really need to drive the car, such as to the shop, you can get above second gear by reaching a high speed in second, pulling both paddles to reach neutral, then pull the "Up" paddle and it will select 3, 4, 5, or 6 gear.

    it going to the Ferrari stealership tom am but they at least let me supply the parts

    Which dealership is near you? Aslo, will you share with us what they tell you?

    do you think I have been a ferrari owner for the last 15 years on this forum for any other reason ??

    thanks for the tip about getting above 2nd gear, will have to wait a few days for them to diagnose though, I will paste part no when I know

    Seems my F430 Spider problem is my F1 Potentiometer part number 248095, any one else had this ?
