I wear this watch once a year, every year, on my birthday. This is the watch I worked very hard for over 50 years ago. I thought every man needed a watch and since I was 8 or 9 years old I certainly qualified. I was paid 60 cents an hour, yes a penny a minute, to paint an old woman's fence. Once I'd saved enough and finished the job I rode my bike to Woolworths and it was mine. Years later I found it in an old jewelry box in a non-working state. Through some luck I found the gentleman who was in charge of Timex's repair division. He was retired but still worked on a few. He did me the honor of restoring it for me. Wearing it reminds me that I've been driven my entire life, of how far I've come, and wearing it helps keep me humble. Heading out to dinner with a very good looking wife and it is proudly on my wrist ticking away. . Image Unavailable, Please Login
Happy Birthday! I must have been subconsciously thinking of you when I took my old Timex out of the box Monday and wore it. (Off by a couple of days: oops.)
That, my friend, is one of the best watch stories ever!! We don't need them to tell us the time, but to remind us of who we are and to live our best lives!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY (mine was the 3rd) and enjoy dinner with your better half!!
Hell, I will pay you .85c an hour to come paint my fence any day of the week! Happy B day. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Guess you know their story. Something like 12 years ago they introduce a mechanical watch with an add on that was a pixel LCD screen dor scuba diving. It was really interesting I had one! It is named Biformeter and it is still in production but I don't know if they still provide the add on.
What a fantastic story. Happy belated Birthday from someone who was also born on the 21st of August. My b-day watch is newer, but has definite sentimental value: it was a surprise gift from my wife
Thank you all very much. Well happy belated birthday to you! Today I'm wearing my tapestry dial 16014. . Image Unavailable, Please Login
Not only would I have noticed, I would have asked to see it! Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Well, could you not hide it from your friends here!! Btw, I’m sure they noticed, but were too awed to say anything! Lol
No heavy lifting today and movie/dinner date with my wife tonight, so AP 15202 today. Image Unavailable, Please Login
