If Tom C. were awake he'd be touting the Mets' rotation in a short series as well. Unfortunately Tom is totally immersed in the Cowboys and the salary cap corner the Eagles boxed them into.

 

You got that right, partially. All my contract related hand-wringing of the past few years seems to be coming to fruition. ☹️

Actually, I was thinking that one advantage the nights would have if they could reach the post season is that starters tend to go deeper into the game. That typically mitigates the soft underbelly that is middle relief. However, the Mets 8/9 inning guys still give me major gas when they come in.

Another worry (because that's what Mets fans are best at) is that I don't think their defense is very good. Deficiencies in that area always seem to bite you in the butt come postseason.

Yeah, but it always seems that the offensive juggernauts go cold when the weather cools in the fall, rotations shorten, and there are a limited number of soft middle relievers and mop-up guys to feast on...T

 

The stros closers are really suspect these days.

 

J.L. has not ruled out calling up Whitley. This option is a long shot. However, with J.L. anything is possible.

 

Can the Phils win at least ONE from the fish this weekend?

What's with the silly uniforms the teams are wearing tonight? Home team in pure white from head to toe, visiting team in pure black. But in both cases the letters and numbers are all in white, so on the home uniforms, you can't see the players' (nick)names or numbers! Who's daft idea was this?

The Yanks look great especially when you consider Stanton, Voit and Severino are out of the lineup with injuries. They should be healthy for the post season.

Hard to believe that's now the oldest stadium in MLB after Fenway and Wrigley. I went to a game there in 1987 and was suitably impressed.

Don't think I have seen HS teams with uniforms that crappy. Not sure who came up with this idea, but major fail on their part...T
