Image Unavailable, Please Login Trying to get my external wing mirrors to work electrically again. took mirrors off to get to the power connectors. Metered and cleaned all contacts, all are good, have voltages present, but looks like that bloody switch is playing up again, I remember taking that thing apart years ago and scrabbling on the floor for the ball bearings and tiny springs. Grrrrrrrr When I had the wing mirror off I popped out the actual mirror to have a look at the motor at the rear but couldn't find a way into the motor unit itself, so just belled out the wires to the power connecto, all good. I will tackle that switch when I'm calm and have time with good light available, as it's now raining again Image Unavailable, Please Login
Upgraded my 81 with the Birdman's fuse box. Thank you Ian Karr for making the YouTube installation video, it made it really easy to complete the job. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Well, I used them for the first time last night and they were amazing clear white light, I could actually see where I was driving which as we know with our old lamps are very poor. Overall a recommendation from me and a very cheep upgrade keeping your existing lamps installed.win win. Quick and easy install, that makes a pleasant change on a 3X8.
Nicely done. Next question is, what is out there for leveling up from the GBC ceramic fuses to ATC blade fuses? Seems logical to go GBC > SFE > ATC I did the conversion from glass to blade in a Land Rover Defender a few months back. Who's done this for the 3X8 panel? Showed at Concorso Italiano again for the 4th year in a row. First time to show without getting Judging done. It was an absolutely gorgeous day with amazing cars everywhere. Looking forward to Danville next month! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Got both cars wiped back down and put to bed after Concorso. Completely in love with these covers from Beverly Hills Motorsport. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I hooked up my door/key chime back on , so now when the door is open and the ignition switch is turned on, it will chime just like how it was originally.
The 328 has been completely in the shadow of my springtime acquired 550. Well this am I had a nice tour and realized just how much I love this car. Regardless of its age, performance level, it puts such a massive smile on my face the moment I see it, let alone turn the key or drive it on our roads that are simply made for it. It’s the same car I fell in love with so many years ago. I don’t see it ever leaving my garage..... unless we’re off for a drive.. On Sunday, absolutely nothing special...usual "routine": took the GTS out for a spin at 8:00 in the morning, 20 miles up to the "country of three frontiers" where France, Germany and Luxembourg meet around the Mosel river. Here, crossed from France to Germany, then across the Mosel to Luxembourg, followed the river for ten miles to Mondorf, which borders Luxembourg and France, then crossed back to France after filling her up, as gas is cheaper in Luxembourg. Three different countries visited, tank full and back home after a nice drive two hours later. Took the GTB out for her spin the day after, on Monday morning. Rgds . Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've think I saw your car once during spring Close to Mettlach. Could that have been you? I'm relatively local to you as I live in Luxembourg city.
That could well have been me, because I know Mettlach very well, and drive there from time to time. But there are a small number of black 328 GTS in the neighborhood, so...mine is easy to distinguish: it is the only one with grey leather. Rgds
Same cost and more or less same design than the one from "La housse à l'ancienne" (= "The old-fashioned car cover") in France. Manufactured on order an to your specification: choice of materials/thickness/cost, and matched to your demands, usually to match it to the car: I have a anthracit one with gray piping for my Metallic Black / Gray leather 328 GTS. These are superior in every way to the factory covers. Expensive, but well worth their price (I have no horse in this race, just a satisfied customer). Rgds
Today? Using it to run errands. The daughter's car is in the shop for an airbag recall. My wife is boondoggling in Lake Tahoe with the SUV. My BMW is up on jack stands so I can do some maintenance. So, the 308 is my only car!
I finally found time to finish a little project I started some time ago. I picked up these already altered side louvers from a fellow Fchat member 8-10 months ago. They had been painted rattle can black and needed some freshening. So I began to strip off the black paint and found they had been painted rosso corsa prior to the rattle can black which made an excellent base for any bodywork needed. A little skim coat of filler and a couple of coats of flex primer and they were good to go. I think they turned out great. The black finish I applied is an epoxy primer/sealer with a little trick to make a more stippled matte finish. The tape job for the silver edges was the most time consuming. Regardless, I think they turned out great. I too have the plan on doing the same thing as I have an extra set of the side louvers but have not had chance to do it yet.
