    My first Ferrari is ready to be your first Ferrari. I have had it for three years now, and have put 17,000 miles on it. It is a 'driver' level car. In fact, for a time right after I got it I was so in love with it I basically drove it as a daily driver. Two 1,500 mile road trips through Utah without a hiccup (other than rain and a warning from UHP). I love this car and it has been my favorite material possession ever. But I have been looking at getting a newer Ferrari, and only have one indoor parking spot.
    • All maintenance since 3/16 has been done at Towbin Ferrari, in the first months I had it I spent about $7,000 in odds and ends including
      • Dave Helms' Scuderia Rampante silicone coolant hose kit
      • New Fabspeed cats
      • Fixing various repair shortcuts and wiring mistakes from prior shops
      • Some new fuses
      • Fixing a leak from the oil hoses off the reservoir
    • Fresh Michelin Sports in 2017
    • Rebuilt alternator in 2017
    • Resprayed the seats in early 2018
    • 4/5/19 - $2,564 in bumper repair and paint, with buffing/detail on some of the panels, done at Certified Auto Body, referred by the dealer. They stripped it and repaired it with fiberglass - it's done correctly and the bumper looks perfect.
    • Brand new battery about 3 months ago
    • It already had aftermarket headers and Tubi exhaust
    • A/C blows cold, heat system works
    • Kenwood aftermarket stereo, also someone wired in a USB port to charge phones
    • Clean title in hand

    It's a 22 year old car. The stuff that could be fixed:
    • According to the prior owner the last major was done around 2012. The local techs report that the belts look fine. It runs strong and there are no indications of engine issues. I drive the car so much that I'm not sure that I buy into the whole '5,000 mile' major mantra. If I keep it I will do a major this year. The clutch has been fine, I don't drag race and this is my 5th manual car - again the techs tell me that without abuse it should last a few more years but I'd probably do it with a major.
    • The oil pressure gauge got floppy after about 6 mos and I haven't replaced the sender unit.
    • There is a light oil drip from a seal on the rear left of the engine/transmission. Intermittently a couple drops a week. Again, the techs aren't concerned and recommend just waiting for the next major. Hence the plastic sheet I park it on.
    • The airbag light comes on intermittently
    • The suspension system light that comes on intermittently, mechanic troubleshot it to one shock/corner where he thinks the relay might need to be replaced (couple hundred bucks)
    • There's some dash pull with a thin line of dash visible if you look closely at the base of the windshield
    • Like pretty much every F355, there's leather pull on the airbag cover.
    • There is one snap button missing on the inside rear of the leather cover for the roof; it goes on tight but there's one edge gets a little flappy at 90+ ... I have it off right now to hear the speakers better (those are aftermarket too, apparently)
    • There are a few scratches on the wheel edges, really more chips than gouges
    The CEL comes on due to fuel/air mixture, due to the aftermarket headers+cats+exhaust. As noted above, I drove it with straight pipes for a few months with a CEL but it was way too loud, it was giving me tinnitus. We clear the CEL every service and it comes back within 3-4 drives. But the car runs so well and has for 17,000 miles and several long road trips that it doesn't worry me.

    That's because once the ODBII monitors are set they see the fault again and throw the code.

    Thanks! I drove around with my kids for two hours on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. These are the best types of memories you can get with it. My 18-month old kept saying "weeeeee" and "rooooom!" When I would rev it as we drove around.

    Carfax attached. The car was delivered to me 3/2016, and it took a few months to get it registered because I was tinkering with the straight pipe setup it had and ran it a few thousand miles that way, before finally changing out to the Fabspeed cats and getting it smogged and plated in Nevada.

    Update:
    • It's been a quiet summer for the car, I've only driven it a few times;
    • Fixed the intermittent issue with the power seats, replaced potentiometer and got the seat levers softened up again;
    • Rebuilt the alternator about 2 mos ago;
    • When I had it towed for the alternator, the tow truck driver rubbed the nose on the kickplate of his truck... so it's back in the paint shop right now for touchup;
    • Passed annual smog test two weeks ago, no issues in getting it to pass after the fuel/air CEL (see post #2) was cleared.
    $44,000 takes it!

    Great Price. Should go @ 44K I would think.
    I Just Paid 70,000 for mine, granted with Major + Valves Done, New Dash, No Stickies.

    As far as your codes you might get more piece of mind from potential buyers if you list all the codes. Ones like mine are because of the Cats & Exhaust and don't indicate a bigger problem.
    I have a Tubi with HyperFlows & would get codes every few drives.
    I bought an Ancel AD310 for $35 my codes were p1448, p0422 & p0432
    p0422 & p0432 were solved by installing BigDaddies Angled O2 Extenders.
    p1448 I have yet to try after changing my Thermocouple (ECU is new)

    Thank you, I'll see if the dealer can pull the codes from the car history (if they logged it). It had extenders with the straight pipes when I got it, and I'm pretty sure we put extenders back on after we re-installed cats.

    For now, I enjoy having both the manual spider and the coupe with paddles.

    I would resort to gifts and begging if necessary ......lol.
    You only live once.
    My 97’ has over 44,000 miles on it and it’s currently in for its annual service, plus a few other items.
    If you can do the DIY thing you can save big bucks, my skills are limited and ...... I am single, so without any adult supervision ......
    ....... well you know how that goes......lol.
    I don’t think 355s are going to get much cheaper than they are right now.
    To me higher miles and well maintained is the way to go.

    I'm pretty interested, some things are not clear though. What is the total milage, you seem to only mention the 17k you put on it in the past 3 years unless I missed it. I see 63k on the odo. It's had 17k+ miles and 7-8 years since the last major? Is the dash perfect? If the dash is perfect and it's an accident free car I can handle the rest, engine out is cake.
