It has its pluses and minuses.... (mostly minuses) Living in a litigious society NOT so good overall.... Consider this -- AEB will likely cost more lives/do more damage than illegal emissions from Dieselgate... and look at the $$ billions Dieselgate cost OE's in fines/penalties... Any potential class action suit re: AEB will be miniscule in comparison... WHY? Governments reaped billions from Dieselgate emissions fines... Whereas governments are actually supporting/mandating junk such as AEB, etc.
I, for one, am pumped for monday’s grand reveal of the spider!! I see it in person on Tues Think we will be allowed to take pics? If so, the wait ends on Monday morn when photos appear here!
News just in from Maranello. During the world premiere on Monday they are doing a special break-out session in a separate room on Assisted Emergency Braking (AEB). I hear that the participation will be strictly limited due to....... ......very little interest.
Going to be interesting as for those not there on the 2nd but later - will the event be less special as pics of the cars will already be out?
I am happy that nothing more serious befell on you, but one should always wear a seat-belt inside a moving motorcar...
As far as I know the 812 Spider is not limited nor are the orders chosen by the factory. So my answers are totally opposite what you have heard.
So dealers choose who they give the allocation to? Have you heard anything on production number at all?
So far the dealers have no exact info about who gets one and who won't and usually the dealer submits names of buyers up the chain. Also, so far no one has an allocation. Allocations are done through MODIS and until the car is officially in the factory system, tentative orders are only done right now between customers and dealers with no promises. I've heard about production numbers but no point to post it as it's just rumors.
Thank you that’s meaningful information. I appreciate i may just be a rumor but would still be valuable to hear what your view on numbers is if you feel confortable sharing it..
I suspect will be more limited than 812 SF coupe, limited by time, limited by those willing the shell out the likely very high price tag (I’m guessing well optioned to be in $600-650K range).
The price feels high given its not officially limited i would have thought about 50k usd or so above the coupe before options. The coupe prod numbers will be around 3500 by the end of the cycle i heard the spider might be somewhere around 1500 but not confirmed
Tomorrow! I’ve assumed £300k base in the Uk. Coupe was £260k. The premium for spider would be inline with prior models
No. Dealers suggest and advocate for their clients. Some clients will be contacted by Maranello, but those are only a few VIP clients. The rest is do e through the dealers, but Maranello chooses who gets in based on the "points system" they use. And again. Just because one has been invited to the launch, does it not equate a. Allocation. There were people who were invited to the TdF, Pista and Speciale launch who ended up without allocations. Not sure why this would be different.
I i mean even though Ferrari decide who they allocate the car to i heard ( at least for that car) that dealers have a certain capacity to choose who can get the allocation meaning not 100% decided by Maranello. I also heard that is in line with their new policy whereby they are trying to bring new customers onboard, i heard for instance 30% of F8 Tributo buyers would be new to the brand..
