IMO The Pista's design reflects it intent perfectly, the 458 is a timeless Pininfarina design, the F8 brings the evolution of the 488 to a much improved conclusion, the Speciale is an incredible car, but has too many add on looking elements, and the the 488's front end is just my least favorite. I in no way would want to offend anyone here. Everyone of these is an insane car to own and opinions are like belly buttons!

I’ve heard the car in person and sat in it and felt the engine and revved it. In my opinion of having driven over 240,000 miles in F Cars, the engine music and vibration inside the cockpit is pretty uninvolving. I like the styling. And I don’t argue that it is faster car than the 488.

But it ain’t going to be a special car, Oh and I’m getting one too. But I’m pretty sure I’m gonna trade this one after a couple of years.

interesting that most responses put the newer cars first and the hitherto unimpeachable 458 quite low down. 488 seems to be the least favourite by consensus. Seems Manzoni’s look is now growing on us.

So without actually driving a car but by simply sitting in it and reving the engine, you possess the ability to determine the extent to how involving it will be to drive. Your definition of " involving" driving dynamics is solely predicated upon 2 factors- engine sound in park and vibrations in the car while doing so. I will agree that the exhaust note does contribute to the thrill element while driving, but a compelling, engaging driving experience entails significantly more. Suspension tuning that is not overly compliant but sufficiently absorptive and firm so that it connects the driver and the car to the road instead of insulating the two, steering that is direct and properly weighted so that there is tactile feedback when maneouvering the car at any speed, brakes that are not numb but bite when pressure is evenly applied, explosive linear acceleration that creates a G force that jolts the senses to life. The fact that you have thousands of miles of driving experience in F cars may signify some knowlege or expertise on the subject, but I know those who have worked at the same job for 35 years and are still incompetent.

LOL!!! It is amazing how such an opinion can be formed by just sitting in a car and revving the engine up. It takes the meaning of armchair racer to whole new next level.

curious for how the sound compares to 488, if it differs at all. Thinking you get the Pista engine, more HP, but added GPFs so I'm curious to see if Ferrari is able to still produce awesome sound with the new WLTP regs moving forward. Same would go for 812 spider if it has the GPF too

    1. Pista-front side and rear are perfect
2.Speciale-side and rear perfect-front less so
3.F8-tie- side perfect-front and rear overwrought
    3.488-tie-rear perfect-side needs intake help-front better than 458 although a bit simplistic
    3. 458-tie-rear perfect with triple exhaust-side looks a bit dated but near perfect-the front always needed a do over with the mustache

Personally, I think the F8 looks great. I can't help thinking that some of the F8 gate above isn't just a case of sour grapes by those who have a Pista discovering Ferrari has pulled the carpet under them with the F8.

While I wait for my Pista spider, I am fully expecting the F8 spider next week to look like a winner too.

Buying a new Ferrari and only keeping the car for six to eighteen months is typically what many clients do. Keeping a Ferrari and driving it tens of thousands of miles is much more rare...
The F8 is just an Italia with more power and more grip but different cosmetics. Ferrari didn't reinvent the wheel with the F8.

“The F8 is just an Italia.” While the F8 is not transformational, it represents a highly evolved and substantively altered car on virtually every level. The F8 engine is a 710 HP twin turbo with highly improved engine components such as Inconel, titanium connecting rods etc, has extensive aero dynamic exterior elements, and completely new exterior design. What in this description mirrors the Italia?
