Would agree, but in the US I think he is not that well known. Amongst designers, of course, he’s well known.

I had a 1990 Jetta Carat with just about every possible option, and it was a beautiful car for that era. Got lots of compliments on it when it was considered the poor man's BMW. It was not changed much from the original Golf at all. Loved the hand crank sunroof in that car. It never leaked! :)

Brings back memories. Back in the day, I had a BMW 320i with a hand-crank sunroof. I'm sure nobody makes hand-crank anything anymore.

To quote a slightly drunk architect: “if less is more, just think about how much more MORE is!”

That is striking. I won't be in Frankfurt, but I'm eager to see one in the flesh.

I shouldnt like this as its sinfully overwrought, but somehow Lambo pulls that off better than anyone else. It appeals to the 12 year old in me, and i say that affectionately not sarcastically.

    Interested in seeing more.

I’m the same way. I don’t want to like it because it’s so OTT, but yet..........

I guess sometimes more really is more.

It is interesting: in those side-by-side pictures the Corvette, the 'vette comes off looking a little pedestrian. That is saying a lot given how good the car looks in the flesh. I suppose the real test of the Lambo will be seeing it in person.

I have no doubt the Lambo in person will be as ‘expressive’ as we might imagine.

The Vette is good looking but its styling is, IMO, intended to be very approachable. The Lambo is the epitome of 'exotic' styling. Also the Vette needs to be user-friendly on a daily driver basis so the ease of ingress/egress and interior ergonomics is important which means no crazy wide door sills, etc

I like the Corvette better than the Lamborghini, but I outgrew Lamborghini's over-the-top designs when I was still a teenager. :)

for me this is almost hilarious. I did a semester with Pritzker Prize winning architect Glenn Murcutt in OZ many years ago. I would hazard a guess that 97% of Australians wouldn't know the name...

    - not many people care about design, more's the pity...

Yes, the Corvette has lots more real world considerations that the exotics can "pass on by". You hit on some significant ones already but the occupant percentile range is also a real consideration (5% female to 95% male is likely). Some level of baggage ability. Year round driving. Servicing at a Chevrolet dealer. I suspect that the Lamo is not subject to the same durability testing that GM would mandate in its development.

All that said, I too find this Lambo an interesting look that appears to be quite cohesive within its design language. Definitely not a design by committee.

One criticism of the C8 Corvette is its front overhang and the need for front lift on steep ramps, Looks like the Lambo has double front overhang..

And yet, when people experience good design, they recognize it even if they can't quite name it.
