I'm trying to confirm the original color of our 1975 308 GT4, may have narrowed it down to Rosso Bordeaux (20-R-351) or possibly (30-R-351). It has been difficult locating exemplars. If you have a photo and/or any information about current paint codes, etc., I would be most grateful. The attached photo shows the current color (I believe Rosso Corsa) over what may be the original color (I believe Rosso Bordeaux), although I welcome your opinion. This photo is from under the rood trim. Car is waiting for the decision on color to go into the booth. Originality is guiding my decision. Ferrari has been slow to provide original paint code although I am holding out hope. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think there are some color threads in the detailing and showroom forum, as well as here in the 308 forum. Also a web search will turn up some links to Ferrari color web pages. Caution, though, some of those aren't very accurate in their identification of the color on the pictured Ferrari. Good luck.

There are some web sites that show the color name, paint code and a sample. Have you seen those? I went through the same process but once I was finished I did not save the web sites.
I've seen those sites. I guess you're trying to confirm that your car was originally rosso Bordeaux. I think the sample you're showing is probably too small and subject to too much color variation based on the original picture and how it appears on various display screens. Sometimes if you type your VIN into a search engine you can find details about the car, but that's hit-and-miss on older cars.
The only way to confirm is through Ferrari. You will receive the "code", but then you need to find the formula, unfortunately
Thomas, here are some photos that I have collected. I am not sure if they are Rosso Bordeaux or Rosso Rubino, or perhaps both, but they are in the burgundy color spectrum. I’m told it does NOT appear metallic. (The body shop has the car.) I believe that rules out Rosso Rubino, but Rosso Bordeaux is a non-metallic IIRC.
Rosso Bordeaux and Rosso Rubino have a very similar color temperature. Rosso Rubino is metallic, however, and to me looks like a whores fingernail polish in the sun. Just my 2 cents.
Keep looking ..and I love that original color! Look inside door or pull carpets... It takes about 3" sq. inches (or 3"s square??) to get a modern computer color match scan and all the code chasing and research gets you no further along! Find a bigger sample and repaint it that beautiful shade! Good luck
Hey man I love rossa Rubino..ordering a FIAT 124 that color! Mazda actually has it dead on, in the current Flame red metallic... OP., just have them carefully sand out the roof, scan the larger area, and rock on!!
Possibly the best thing I have read in a month. And I’m left wondering if that is intended as a disapproval, or a compliment. Well played.
I had the same problem with my 246 and identified it from original paper work from Tony Willis in the UK. The code was 20-R-351 and most good paint shops can mix to match that code - mine did and it was perfect with the swatch card I had. Here is my 246 in Rosso Bordeaux - beautiful colour Image Unavailable, Please Login
