Haven't heard much talk on the GT500 and the allocations to dealers are out and people have ordered with build dates. I am not interested in a 2020 model due to expected ADMs.

    Here's the price guide.

I was very interested and then heard the exhaust note and saw the overdone bodywork.

4200 lbs and the c8 pretty much put this on back burner. its a dodge redeye competitor muscle car and not a sports car. fail.

By delaying the GT500 redo so long, I am not sure the Mustang die hards will even pay the expected $10k - $20k ADM this time around. GT350R's probably the better buy right now as their prices are MSRP or lower.

I was excited about this car . . . until Ford started releasing info. It's nearly 400 lbs heavier than my 2014 GT500, no quicker to 60, and lower top speed (not that it really matters). It probably brakes better, until the brakes fade due to weight, and handles better due to the IRS (and despite the weight). And it's pretty expensive. No thanks. I'll be getting a C8 once the dealer markups disappear and they sort out first year bugs.

Pretty sure that it's similar to my GT500 if you mean the GT350 and not the lighter GT350R. The older Mustang is lighter given the lighter solid axle rear suspension in my car vs the IRS in the current Mustang, but the supercharger/intercooler etc in my GT500 pretty much even things out. I'd have to look it up to be certain though.

In my previous post, I forgot to mention no manual trans compared to the previous GT500.

I think the GT350 is THE one to have. I’m curious how the power/weight ratio compares from the GT350 to the GT500.

The jump in price of $5,000 for the 2020 GT350R is unappealing to say the least.

Can you still order a gt350r, and if so at MSRP?

I think that you could find a 2019 GT350R already at a dealership for MSRP or order a 2020 at MSRP without much trouble. The GT500 allocations appear to be sold out or close to it. Best chance is with a Midwest dealer. I think that Davesvt2000 just ordered one at a slight discount ($2,500 under MSRP).

Neither the 350 or 500 can be built yet at Ford.com. Mustang6g is a great resource or svtperformance

Yes, I was offered my choice of a 2020 350 or 350R for $1000 over invoice.

I went with the “regular” 350, simply because the price difference between the two was not justifiable IMO due to the fact that I would prob take the CF wheels off if I did the R so as not to risk damaging them on the ****ty Massachusetts roads, and secondly, the no back seat on the R is nice, but I’ll be removing the back seat on the 350 and doing a Watson Engineering roll bar just like I did on my Boss 302 Laguna Seca.

So the wheels and seat delete was not worth over $10k difference to me.

I don’t have an assigned VIN yet, dealer is telling me ford is cranking out the 500’s first, so with my luck it will be in November or December and have to be put immediately away for the winter.

Were there any leftover 2019's that were better priced or did you want to order the car the way you wanted it? What color did you get?

I wanted to order it the way I wanted, no technology package, and cloth seats vs leather.

I ordered twister orange, which is darker than the 2019 orange fury, and a black painted roof, no stripes

I think I’ll keep my 350R. It’s the best track weapon you can get anywhere near the $, stock and with a 8 year warranty for $3k. The 500 would be a cool street car, but my Modena is still probably cooler and less tickets :)
