This car was on sale in Las Vegas in 2008 (it was a wreck back then); It took me a month to get hold of the seller only to understand that it was sold two weeks earlier into UK! does anyone have more recent infos on the car?
    Thnks

2008 with a a Frank Lombardo/Las Vegas who is/was under indictment for wire fraud concerning overseas internet gambling. Google him for the story.

Very unfortunate that the nose has been modified in restoration, removing much of the uniqueness of this extraordinary vehicle.

Who would be kind enough to definitively explain what was 2947GT exactly and why it's listed in Raab's list as "330 GT 2+2 prototype with 2.650mm wheelbase and PF job number 99533" ? On RM website, it seems to have standard 2.600 mm wheelbase.
Any connection with Enzo and this "MO 54083" blue/red 2+2 ?
Thank you very much in advance.

Two 330GT prototypes 2947 & 3105 seem to have been scrapped, if they ever were complete cars. GTE-speciale 2257 was then rebuilt/renumbered to use up number 2947. It is noteworthy that product development was delayed from original plans. GTE-facelift was originally planned to enter production for model year 1962, and 330GT likely aimed for 1963. Delay is likely the reason early 330GT prototypes were aborted.

    Thanks Kare,
Why scrapped ? 2947 & 3105 must exist with standard 250 GT 2+2 body and another identity.
    - For example, what was originally the car given today to be "2257/SA", the one now with "ROMA 539893" plates ? Which engine is in this car today ? For sure not the real 2257/SA. Which car it was originally ?
    - Another example : 2713GT given to be the prototype for the new design with "MO 69170" plates ? I don't believe this story of a "prototype" is true. Could very well born with another s/n originally during the Serie 3 production. And of course, today, 2713GT has lost its original engine...
    - And what really was originally the car resurrected in France with 1287/SA identity ? Is it true the wreck had 3105 engine ?
    - There must be others suspicious cars...

330GT prototypes 2947 & 3105 were not necessarily both completed cars. If there were two early prototypes, I wonder why we have no photos. Both may also have been worn out and scrapped. For a reason or another, serial number 2947 was free to be re-used soon. For one second I don't believe they would make a 330GT prototype looking like a GTE. That would be complete waste of time. They had a vision to make a bigger and better, a more comfortable car. That's why they added 50mm to the wheelbase, it makes a huge difference.

2713 is an early facelift-mule, the nose is different from S.3 production cars. The lights were later grouped closer together for mass-production so the complex forms were all on a very small piece that could be stamped. 2677 and 2711 were slightly different "S.2 pre-production cars" (with further developed facelift) but for a reason or another they did not put the facelift into production at this time, it was delayed by one more year.

The renumbering circus is not that hard really. 1287 was sold off using the original number in the end, 1903 became 2257 and 2257 became 2947. They all had wb/2600 which can easily be measured in various photographs.

Gets too complicated if we start discussing the various engines here, but timewise 4-litre engine 3105 could have been installed in 1287. It did exist by that time.

As said sometime before already they did not all have the same wheelbase and additional serial numbers are involved as well.

I thought that 330 GT prototypes were only standard GTE with 330 engine which could explain why we think there are no pics...

Parking light on 2713 is slightly lower and much further out. Easy to spot if you compare its location to the bumper end. The "torpedo" is slightly longer because of the different location.

Well... I’m still thinking that all this brainstorming around 330 GT prototypes is similar to what happened with 3097 and 4031 with identities swapped and engine and parts coming from another cars.
May be it’s the real 3105 with 1287 identity that has been crashed in France, who knows ?

    I would say a 330
looks nearly like a 250 GT/E serie 3 but the center chrome strip also continues in front o fthe hood until the F badge. an my former 250 GT/E serie 3 this was not so

also I wonder about 2713. my former 250 GT/E serie 3 had 4911, so the 2713 has been long before and I think at that time the was no 330 engine available? also 2713 never would have the fog lights in the fender. normaly behind the grill. I not know at what VIN the serie 3 started but 2713 cannot be a serie 3 nor a 330

1903 that became 2257. Sold off at the same time (9/61) as 2713, which explains the facelift.

2257 was not "sold off at the same time (9/61) as 2713".

Innacuracy on my behalf. Three cars were updated with a 2nd version prototype nose for upcoming facelift during 1962. 2677/2711 had been the first version late in 1961 already.
