Spotted a yellow LP640 turning north onto the New England Hwy from the Cunningham outside Warwick yesterday afternoon. Beautiful day for a drive.

Early Murcies are definitely not fantastic. They have very poor reliability, suffer from hard to diagnose electrical faults, on top of the usual driveline maintenance issues that began with the Countach.

Audi eventually improved the quality. The LP640 in 2006 was the start of the better cars.

They're based on the Audi R8, 100% engineered by Audi, so only suffer the usual VW Group problems. e.g. I wouldn't go near one with a DSG transmission.

initially yes, but later cars have the VW 7 speed DSG. Not sure when the cutover happened.

The Gallardo came to market first, using the R8 underpinnings VW announced in 2003. First R8 was 2006.

I don't think so either. Huracan was the first one.

The ad says it's unmodified but you can clearly see it's got the LP640 upgraded rear lights AKA MODIFIED :p

Travelled just 30,000 kilometres, this one owner car would have to be one of the finest we’ve ever seen. This car was the first new model manufactured under the ownership of German parent company Audi, something that shows in the build quality.
Unmodified, all tell-tale signs from the pristine double stitching across the leather bucket seats, dash and door cards to the still matte finish touch points like the steering wheel and switch gear and the perfect carbon trim fit and finish show a car that has led a charmed life.

Vs the orange one on carsales from 2002 with the real lights.

    Which one?

The Squadra Corse was one of the last special "track" editions and it still had e-gear.

I'm happy to stand corrected, I'm possibly confusing the Audi R8 cutover to DSG.

I don't care enough about either car to pay much attention. A mate of mine had an esrly R8 with the e-gear (called r-tronic or something) and had no problems, despite driving it like an auto, which is usually bad for them. He sold the car after 3 years, didn't suffer too much tear up.

PSW's R8 had the same setup from memory.
