    Lost my 458 second keyfob. Very not happy about it. I saw some uncut unprogrammed keyfob on eBay. Wonder if I should try that instead of paying $1000 to the dealer. I have the codes as well.

    I searched the search function and couldn't find any info for cloning the keyfob for 458. Most are for 430 only.

    Do you have any shop recommendations for key cutting and programming the keyfob?

    Also curious if you can buy the key online and just bring to the dealer. I’m guessing they will shut it down and say it’s not OEM (although you need a keen eye to tell) and not do it.

    End of the day, how much of the $ that the dealer charges you for a backup key is the actual key itself, anyway? Maybe someone can share their bill.

    A replacement key and programming cost the seller I bought my car from about $1200. I believe the key alone was about $1000. This was 5 years ago.
