They look good in the brochure, but in the wild and in real light and viewed from an angle, they look anemic.
Funny, felt the same as y’all. Thought those trident wheels were okay on the configurator- real life pics, uh, no. Got the base wheels- not terrible. Will look to get some aftermarket forged for track duty.
Looks like The Mayor is correct. If you watch Chevy's animation of the convertible in their announcement of its reveal date, you can see the coupe change into the convertible in a profile drawing. The convertible does appear to have a lower roof line and a more stretched-out look. I like it!
I have to say that Tadge is (IMO) the perfect guy for this job. He very clearly understands the customer, he is engaging and not afraid to be funny (or ironic) in the answer to the chrome wheel question (!).
That might be because on vette forum we gave him an earful during the time the mid-engine C8 was a dream but claimed to be reality. Vette fans have been disapointed before. He was told things like "don't make fake BMW engine noise through the car speakers!"
Huh? The C8 is a reality. And when did Tadge claim this "dream"? Hell, NO ONE at GM even acknowledged the C8 's existence until 8 months ago.... And the engine note plumbed into the C8 cabin is NOT the synthesized BMW note, it's the actual engine...
I snagged an allocation for one a few months back and should be getting it by the end of the first quarter 2020. Next weekend at the corvette funfest in Effingham IL the GM 2020 corvette tour will be showing off the cars and other items. Its only a couple hours from me so I guess I should go see one in person since I ordered one! Here are some shots of the spec I have coming. Just did a check on cars dot com which listed 518 2020 Supras on dealer lots available for purchase. Not good since they have been arriving only recently and sold 963 so far. By comparison, there are only 347 2019/2020 Toyota 86s available. 86s have sold 2,306 in the first 8 months this year, or about 288 per month. IMHO, the 86 is not a bad looking little car for half the price of the Supra. Looks like Mr. Market has firmly spoken on the Supra! RIP.
I've seen them advertised on TV a lot. No way they will make money from the Supra. It's a "Halo" car. My understanding is a lot of dealers are trying to get way over MSRP which is probably hurting sales.
I believe the Supra is selling well in Asia. Its design is appealing to the culture there. People often forget that Asia can make or break a product. Many films that bomb in the USA do great in Asia. Im in the toy industry and many products that bomb here also sell great in Asia. The USA does not make or break a product any more. (Im not a big Supra fan - Im simply pointing out some truths)
That may be good, but with how well the MK4 Supra sells in the aftermarket, Toyota had all the right tools to make it a stunner. You have an entire generation of kids that was raised on Fast and the Furious, who were eagerly awaiting a new car. Just not this car. It may sell well in Asia, but this car will never reach the legendary status the MK4 did. And I don't think it's the design. I think it's more of the car being a BMW....not a Supra. The 2JZ GTE was the heart and soul of the car, with it's heavy iron block and insane boost potential. In concept form I think it looked better than any car I have seen in ages. The BMW Z4 proportions does not flatter the design at all. Here are the concept sketch and an FT1 in the metal. It's stance is so much better. I personally know people my father included who were all hot on the suprs until the C8 was revealed. Supra is going to get killed! No on wants BMW unrelaibility and dumb german complexity in a Japanese car. BMW used to git 4 yr bumper to bumper anything goes warrantee including brake pads and wiper blades. Since they have stopped that no more BMW's for me.
Well, it hasn't been fiberglass technically for a long time. It is plastic. Its called Sheet Molding Compound (SMC) and its also used on the Alfa 4c.
shades of blue https://www.motor1.com/news/371638/chevy-corvette-rapid-blue-photos/ better with polished aluminum wheels?
I honestly do not understand this baby blue paint but it seems like a lot of people like it. I feel the same way about their weird orange and slightly greenish yellow.
I agree on all 3 colors. The blue looks like 'baby blue', and the yellow has too much green in it. The orange? At a loss for words. I understand the blue so far is one of the most popular colors. Go figure.
Is this question directed to me? I'm not Jim. But I will answer your question anyway! Personally I prefer the new Ceramic grey/Silver/Zeus Bronze/Red just my personal opinion
