I did see 3851 GT on 23 September 2017 at Ferrari Classiche in Maranello. It was still red and unrestored at that time, and LHD as well. British license plates "250 PX". Marcel Massini
Gary Pearson must be pretty close to the organisers as he has won more races at the Revival than any other driver. I suspect the organisers approached him looking to get a 250 GTO into the field (especially as there were no Bamford cars at all this year). Sure organisers turned a blind eye to whether it was real or not in the same way they don't seem to have questioned whether Bamford's 64 was real in the past even though it was openly talked about in the paddock. Not sure why Monteverde would not want to drive himself although I don't think he was there all weekend so maybe had other commitments?
Many events! (even in the 80s/90s) Ferrari HC Goodwood Revival Goodwood MM Peter Auto CER .... Even cars that some listed as original in their reports blogs, fchat, barchetta etc Original cars that never drove the BIG event.
Silver replica was back racing at the Goodwood Revival this year, and it won the Kinrara Trophy. Will be interesting to see how the classic car mags report that one... I've been told the car is a Favre recreation, and was last sold via MMC in Paris, in case that helps narrow down which identity it's using. -Ed
