One word: Wow.
2 minor issues to resolve after the first drive - reverse lights are intermittent so suspect either switch or lever travel, and a small oil leak from the fuel pump drive as I think oil seal on bearing is being overcome so will just re-engineer with a proper lip seal which will put that to bed.
I absolutely love seeing this build progress. I can’t wait to see the video of you drifting it around a dirt hairpin and a small jump with all 4 wheels off the ground. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
Ottomobile will soon releasing a 1/18 308 in this livery... https://club-ottomobile.com/en/november/420-ferrari-308-gtb-gr4.html Regards David
How's this coming along Simon? I am absolutely in love with your build. Fabulous job. Was it challenging to figure out the fuel cam with this particular pump?
Just got to get a few miles on it, then rolling road, but weather since September has been pretty wet in the UK. To calibrate another fuel pump is put on with a calibration cam that is then driven with a stepper motor to get right AF values that is hooked upto a laptop, then a new cam is cut from this generated profile. So have to entrust that bit to Lucas Developments as they have the kit.
Swapping the pump for the calibration pump is not a big job, probably 20mins then a few runs and we are set. Finding a dry week end is the problem
Just finishing off a few odd jobs, new oil cooler covers made as hard to get oil temp when cold in the UK, plus an under dash covering for the wiring. Image Unavailable, Please Login
How's things @sp1der Simon? Years have literally gone by now since I last saw you; I've moved to Sussex now. Be good to hear how you're getting on
Great DVD with this book showing the whole of the Italian Championship round by round and the 308 Michelotto being driven hard
I ordered that book as well and I think it was delivered to my Colorado office over the holiday (I’m working out of my California offices at the moment). I never realized it had a DVD. Thank you for updating. Super excited to get back and get it now. Thanks!
Do you already have this one? Antonio Biasioli is a well known Rally photographer, who gave me a couple of his precious pictures for my book. Ciao, Simon! FERRARI 308 GTB RALLY CAR - di Biasioli Antonio (gilena.it) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
