Another mistake. You can't, at least not any faster than parking lot speeds.

Even at parking lot speeds, how the heck could you get in and get the top hooked to the outside of the window?

It sure looks like a sun cover just like they say it is :)

Don't get me wrong BLACK looks awesome but, How about making it with a bright color material like silver, chrome, or something almost white
for better bright light and heat reflection. It would be an advantage for an all day car show
on a sunny, bright, and HOT day. It's just a thought.:)

    Ok guys,

I am going to make the prototype. I will post all the pictures. I will use Sunbrella for the prototype and run some water tests (not on my car, though. Maybe another job for my wife?).

Here is a link to the company.
click on "Fabric Showroom" then on "Marine Exterior". Since I will be purchasing from a distributor it could be that not every colour is in stock or is sold by the yard. Occasionally some colours may require to order the full bolt. The ysual caveats about the color on the monitor apply.

    Watch this spot.

    Thank you all,

    Gianluca

So is everyone good with Gianluca making these? If so I'll let Carbrella know that we won't be ordering from them.

    +1, please count me in.
I was just contemplating how bad an owner I was for leaving the top off in the garage for the last couple days (even under a cover).

    Hi everybody,
I will have the prototype ready by Thursday and I will post some pictures.
I drove the car with the pattern (cardboard) on top and the actual suction cups. I was good for 35 mph. At 40 I had lifting of the top but it did not come off at all. It was still nice and stationary but lifting in the center. I think that the real thing would fare even better. Clearly, it was impossible to get in or out of the car with the top in place so it is really a moot point. My wife was laughing her butt off and she wanted a kiss to let me out of the car. I told her that that is still a form of prostitution (but it is OK with me) :)
The funniest part was to roam the neighborhood in my Rosso Corsa Ferrari with a cardboard and packing tape on top. If I attracted attention before, you can only immagine this time!

For sake of time I will buy some outdoor fabric locally in black similar to Sunbrella but I have some of the real stuff on order already.

    Gianluca

Welcome to the Wayback Machine. :)

Did these ever get made and delivered? If so, can one of the owners comments about their experience using it in the real world? Thanks.
