I'm a bit confused. Perhaps it would be best to show which tag went with which clock (ie, show the clock face)...that would make it very clear.

 

Ron - It depends on what "electronico" clock you have, both I believe are identical to look at but have a different operation on the small knob that adjusts the time. Either it pushes or pulls. It could be the Daytona, 512 or 365 clocks are different - I don't know.

some are selling the Quartz tags for the 246, this is incorrect as far as I know, they belong to the later cars ie the 308 series.

May we please see the reverse?

8 years ago I loaned an original "Pull" to a friend that is one of Shaughnessy's sources to make repops, might be from that batch.
There are some small tell tales, such as "041" vs "042" on the last line

 

see post 18 - 042 is the end digit numbers - I don't have the reverse side.

Ron - I would guess your clock tag would be the electric tag - easiest way to find out, does the knob push or pull.

This label is correct for Italian market cars.

 

Just got to check out my clock...it's a `pull and turn to set time' clock. And the second hand ticks rather than a smooth sweep. I should note that my clock was rebuilt some years ago and I can't say whether anything about it changed as a result of that rebuild.

 

Sounds like its an electric version ? whatever that is!!

 

That is the quartz movement installed in an OEM clock - Clause Meese has been doing that for decades on these clocks.

That Clock tag on Ebay is a copy, but at the $9 price not worth it

Superformance do the clock tags for the electronic version and sensibly priced at £24. You could pay £500 - £1000 for an original if your wallet is bursting at the seams. In my opinion they are a good replica and adds a little extra to the dino pack of collectable items.

Might be a good idea to research that further.
I could be wrong, but believe these labels were initially intended for U.S.-delivery examples to indicate belts meeting U.S. D.O.T. regulation standards, hence printed in English.

 

Finally got around to making some new replica Klippan seat belt tags for the UK version. Really pleased with how they turned out.

Fortunately i had the old ones to copy and managed to get the right colour polyester to match exactly.

I have a few spare if any one wants a set.

Perhaps this has been addressed already, but were there different seat belt tags for Italian delivery Dino's?

My Italian market/delivery Tipo E has seemingly original belts. The tags are faded but legible.
'not sure if the fringe is OE or just a product of age!

Each country would have its own standard and therefore different tags.

The tag is OE but the fraying isnt- Is it stitched to the webbing? to stop the edge fraying even more and ruining the original tags then you can use a fabric sealer or a very small amount of super glue on the outer edge.

The tag is only captured along its top edge under the stitched webbing; the two sides have embroidered edges, and the bottom is unfinished. The tag waves freely, like a tiny flag. As you know, their location shelters them from direct sunlight and they are removed from chafing, wind or other contact. I'm not sure why they have 'weathered' so.
At any rate, I appeciate your suggestion and will attempt to preserve them.

The polyester material is woven vertically and horizontally so when it is cut there is nothing to stop the fibres coming adrift. The side edges are heat sealed when the ribbon is cut from the sheet of material which looks like an embroidered edge. I wouldnt advise using heat on a valuable item as this, the wife's nail polish is good as well. Use sparingly.

Most i have seen are stitched at both ends, the lower edge is attached face down, then folded over and stitched as your ones sandwiched between the webbing, they did this to stop the edges frayng as your example!.

What version dino was this Tag fitted to, mine are for UK cars and were fitted to other models of the era ie Daytona, 365 etc?

I don't recall seeing any indication on the webbing of attachment of the tag along the frayed edge. I've also expanded each of the four pics that I posted and nothing stands out. Hmmm. I'll go out first thing in the morn and detach the belts for a close-up exam.
Further, I plan to source a soft plastic (ideally opaque or tinted) sleeve to slide over the end of each belt to protect/preserve the tags.
Oh, these reside in an Italian delivery Tipo E 246 GT.

Good idea on some sort of plastic sleeving, cling film? If they have survived this long then i guess they may go the extra mile, you need to stop the frraying though, it will unravel itself eventually.
